With the latest release candidate, I have a few plug-ins that do not work as expected. This seems to have to do with an openssl change, although I did not see any updates to openssl in the changelog.
Affected applications:
ProFTPd (Client auth disabled/not available)
Python2.x (including pip):
ImportError: cannot import name md5
Python3.x (including pip3):
Retrying (Retry(total=4, connect=None, read=None, redirect=None, status=None)) after connection broken by 'SSLError("Can't connect to HTTPS URL because the SSL module is not available.",)': /simple/six/
Fix:
Download and apply openssl: https://slackware.pkgs.org/14.2/slackware-patches-x86_64/openssl-1.0.2q-x86_64-1_slack14.2.txz.html
Reboot.
