  • System locks up while transferring large files on 6.10.3

Just updated to 6.10.3, after returning to 6.9.2 from 6.10.1. I'm still having the same issues with 6.10.3 as with 6.10.0 & 6.10.1, which is my server locks up while transferring large files over my network to my Unraid server. I also have the same issue when running a parity check, server locks up and must do a hard shutdown. I don't know how to create a diagnostic report but I will leave my hardware specs below. Please help!...and thanks.

    Intel® Core™ i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz, 16gb of ddr3 Ram, Gigabyte Ga-Z87-D3HP motherboard, Gigabyte Windforce D33006 Gpu.

First try booting in safe mode and do a transfer, if the issue persists enable the syslog server and post that and the diagnostics after a crash.

Ok, doing that now. Running a parity check....BTW Gpu is GeForce GTX 550 Ti

OK so I tried doing a parity check and the server locked up again. So I did a hard shutdown after which I tried to reboot the server in safe mode but now my server won't boot up at all.

Does it stop before or after starting to boot Unraid? If after a screenshot or photo might help.

When I selected reboot in safe mode and clicked on reboot, the server wouldn't boot back up. I finally managed to get it back up again in safe mode. I'm running another parity check to see what will happen.

This suggests a hardware problem, that could also be related to the other issues you are experiencing.

Unfortunately there's nothing relevant logged, assuming the log covers the crash, if it remains stable with v6.9.2 it also doesn't look like a hardware issue, maybe your hardware and the newer kernel just don't get along, but in those cases there's usually something logged.

I was thinking it's a kernel issue also. Thanks so much for your help, I've already switched back to 6.9.2 with no issues. Hopefully this will be fixed in future updates, I won't give up lol.

Yeah, if nothing else try updating again when the new release includes a newer kernel.
