    I think that people also need to take into account the difference in speed between RAM and SSD not just that SSD's wear out faster. The main benefit to a RAM drive is its increased read and write speeds compared to an SSD or hard drive. ... Running our own quick benchmark test using XBench on a Macbook Air showed that write speeds for a RAM drive were an average of 4.5 times faster than the built-in SSD and read speeds were 6.3 times faster
