i have to say again after not knowing which way to go and lots of googling it was Ed's YouTube tutorials that swung my final decision, so i have basically followed his guides on setting up everything i have accomplished so far, i am still making mistakes but have not enjoyed tinkering & learning so much after a good few years of not really bothering just used what i had.

ok thanks, I will set the cache setting to yes if that is the easiest fix, thinking back i have only had this issue since i moved my plex data folder to an unassigned ssd, but don't know how this would affect the cache, i only built my box this year after moving from whs 2011, so its all new, i decided instead of converting all of my movies to a plex friendly format, from a mce/ my movies format i would just download everything. so i have been constantly downloading for about six weeks, so far i have had the cache error message twice both times since i moved the plex data to ssd.

ok thanks again for the reply, I don't fully understand what is happening, I will look at the couple of fixes and keep an eye on things, from what I understand having the media share set to cache yes isn't a good idea for a share that is 95% read with very little write, is that correct? if I use the mount user0 option do I need to create a second user?

Have had another look at my shares only the complete & incomplete folders in download share are set to use cache, media/movies in my media share only uses data drives, if it was a incorrect setting in my docker settings would every movie downloaded not end up in my cache.

Container path /Media is /mnt/user/Media/Movies/ I think that is correct, it seems odd that only one of a number of movies have done that, I have also just realised that the movie in the cache is a duplicate of the exact movie which has also downloaded to my media share. i tried to copy it to movies rather than deleting & it was reported as already existing by Krusader.

Hi Again, I have received error message again about media in cache, I checked with Krusader & a movie folder has been created with a single movie in it although I had downloads going overnight downloading multiple movies, any ideas anyone? thanks for the advice

I followed the advice from fix common problems & did find a folder "movies" with a movie in it in my cache, it was outside of the download folder, no idea how it got there, hopefully that has fixed it. thanks for the replies and help

i have only had this error after moving my plex appdata to a separate ssd in unassigned devices, i wondered if i had done something wrong, quite easy for me still very new at Unraid.

does mover do the moving for Sonarr & Radarr? I thought they moved files working with Sab.

I have just had a look and the only share set to cache yes is downloads, appdata, system & domains are prefer everything else no, my complete & incomplete folders use the cache and all drives

I have checked fix common problems, and have a message "Share Media set to not use the cache, but files / folders exist on the cache drive" i do not have Media set to use cache but do have downloads using the cache before they get moved to the array, is it safe to ignore this message? thanks again

Hi all, i have reached the stage of trying to fine tune my raid box, as usual i start breaking things, i usually need to do something two or three times to get it right, i was trying to move my plex appdata to a ssd which is in unassigned devices, i am now getting an error which reads "Docker application binhex-plexpass has volumes being passed that are mounted by Unassigned Devices, but they are not mounted with the slave option" not sure how to remedy this any help appreciated. thanks

ok thanks for the reply, as long as things keep working great, i am doing lots of research/learning and will probably make the jump at some point from my Netgear D6400 to PF Sense but still not confident enough.

no i looked at pihole after watching Spaceinvaderone`s youtube video but i am still a Newbie so didnt want to risk locking myself out of my internet, lan etc, i have just installed a new router as that is what i thought the issue was so i know that DNS & DHCP are controlled by the router, i didnt mention in my first post that when the ethernet problem ocurred everything that was connected wireless still worked.

Hi all, i had an issue with my unraid box that Squid kindly helped with, a strange coincidence that i hope someone can explain, when my unraid box crashed everything on my ethernet network could not see an ethernet cable was plugged in. that was the error message, at first i didnt know it was my unraid box that had crashed so was doing lots of checks, as soon as i booted up my unraid box everything started working again. any explanation anyone?

you mentioned my cable to cache drive, I am getting errors on a parity check but when I redo the check the error count is different, do you think this is a cable issue as well? I would have thought a faulty sector would stay faulty.

Thanks Squid, I have the setting in unraid set to performance but will check my bios to make sure overclocking is turned off, i think i am having issues with my parity drive and errors but am thinking that is a cable as well going to invest in some new better quality cables.

Hi all i am new to unraid & still learning. I have a problem i hope someone can help with, Fix common problems has detected an error which reads Your server has detected hardware errors. You should install mcelog via the NerdPack plugin, post your diagnostics and ask for assistance on the unRaid forums. The output of mcelog (if installed) has been logged. i have installed mcelog but do not know how to get the log to post on the forum. any help would be appreciated.

ok thanks for your replies, I am looking for an Intel card, hopefully dual port that supports teaming but not sure if pci cards offer that. never had an onboard nic fail before.

yes I have already tried that, just unlucky I guess, I am looking at pci cards as I don't have a free pcie slot, would this be an issue?
