  1. We upgraded from 7.0 to 7.2.2 this week.. The initial issues appears to be that on our network,(this was the smb/nsf user shares) users were randomly working or not, the smb administrator account lost all access... we were left scratching our heads. We were also changing to an upgraded smart switch at the time. After reading and researching this we found the error next to the done button, character case of the cfg file names...... after of course spending a few hours looking at our network config and disgruntled users etc. It would seem that up until now the share name and cfg name were working correctly. In this release upgrade the share name USERS and the config name users.cfg do not match character case. It has worked up until now. We tried to rename the users.cfg file to USERS.cfg using the shell, tried a simple mv users.cfg USERS.cfg the system replied with an error that USERS.cfg was the same file as users.cfg... weird. So mv user.cfg xx.cfg; cp xx.cfg USERS.cfg; restart the array, everything is back to normal. I guess just deleting the file would have worked according to some advice out there( don't know if it would). This looks like a bug, the system seems to think that the share name and cfg name must match character case wise, but reports that they don't and there may be duplicate share names. NOTE: when going into the share we were locked out of the ability to edit the share information. lol with that innocuous error right next to the done button. This was hours of wasted time on our part, the symptoms we had were random users able to access their share and others not for both nfs and smb, So it took us a while to research config character case issues. When upgrading should not the software identify that there is only a single cfg file named the same as the share name regardless of case and convert it to be compatible if needed. Only giving an error if truly two shares exists based upon character case. What a frustrating day for us, I guess we should have read more. I hope this helps someone else upgrading from older versions of unraid. As a final word, we are and have been very happy with unraid and what it provides, and thank the team of developers and tester who do this good work.
