  1. Solved my problem by isolating iommu for my radeon video card and then binding to vfio...in the tools system devices tab...took a long while to find the solution but im happier now...
  2. Im living the same issues you are describing...however my VM will not shutdown clean...runs fine during the day. If I try a grace full shutdown the system locks up and I need to power down to restart. Also something occurs overnight as in the morning I find its locked up...again I need to power down to restart as a Grace full shutdown locks up unraid.
  3. Recently added AMD RX580 and successfully passed it through to my win10 VM. Runs fantastic...however...will not shutdown clean...in fact it hangs the entire VM section (all VM's and the VM section disappear from the dashboard). After the VM shutdown hang I can navigate all other sections of the dashboard (docker etc) but the VM TAB has disappeared. This condition BLOCKS me from shutting down the unraid server gracefully and im forced to power off. Without GPU passthrough the VM shutdown functions normally. Without starting the VM (auto start off) the system shuts down normally. What i have tried: - inspect the XML and the multifunction switch and the slot appear correct (video and sound same slot different function) - used a techpowerup bios and wouldnt start up at all (couldnt find the exact match) - changed physical slots for the GPU - added an nvidia card as second GPU (why not) (the I7 has internal onboard GPU so third gpu) - tried legacy boot - no change Running 6.11.5 (added the RX580 GPU after upgrade) Of NOTE : Experienced another Flash drive issue (Flash error 'not read write') third time in 18months - just prior to upgrade - replaced it - just lucky I guess? : 1 year old IronWolf 4TB Parity drive all of a sudden throwing CRC errors...like really (parity tests fine)? : After running the VM with Passthrough GPU and then Shutting down the VM, I looked at my Tools System Devices and can see that the Video portion of the GPU has been released (no green light next to the GPU) however the HDMI Sound Portion (function 01) has NOT released and is still showing green... Any thoughts or ideas?
  4. Thanks for your reply...and sorry i have been away from this issue for awhile... I dont know what you mean or how to do this: Use the tag 7.6.0-ls63
  5. ok found this in the xorg log : dbus-core: error connecting to system bus: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.FileNotFound (Failed to connect to socket /run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory) seems like my nvdia conf file is messed up...so im totally lost (so perhaps going headless was a bad idea)... Perhaps I should completely start over from scratch...
  6. in the logs there is an error: fuse: device not found, try 'modprobe fuse' first When I went headless, I also removed the keyboard...is this relevant?
  7. I had digikam running beautifully...then I went headless on unraid and rebooted...now digikam throws the error Failed to close file descriptor for child process (operation not permitted) The headless unraid may not be relevant im not sure. I have removed the app several times and removed the appdata. Each time I re-install the digikam app I get the same error. I even created a new docker and reinstalled digikam into the new docker...SAME ERROR! This is interesting: When I install the new digikam container, I edit appdata path and ADD custom photo path (standard procedure) however in the path popup window MY OLD PATHS (from previous digikam installs) show up in the drop downs...like they still exist somewhere on the unraid system even though I have removed the app...and even started a different docker! It seems this data is being stored somewhere on the unraid system and is LOCKED up somehow. Where is this data stored? How can I flush it? Is it causing this child process permission issue? Im on RC4 (this problem occurred on RC2 RC3 and RC4 so that does not seem to be relevant) Any Ideas?
