  1. I have. I did it when I upgraded my 8TB drives to 16TB.
  2. I guess it can go both ways but I feel the backup would be faster.
  3. My main Unraid server runs 24/7, has parity, backs up to the cloud and backup Unraid server. The backup Unraid server is turned on once a week for backups and I was wondering if it makes sense to have parity on the backup Unraid server? Thank you.
  4. Been using CP for awhile now and I'm curious to know how many CPU's you are allocating for it? I'm aware that CP is extremely slow uploading as it took me a year to upload (I have fiber 500 up/down) my media files (10TB and growing). But does adding more cores make a difference? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.
  5. Hola, I upgraded my Unraid server to 10GbE GTek NIC card and its been working perfectly. But it requires me to have two wired connections running to it. One is going to the onboard NIC and the other to the 10GbE NIC. So here are my questions: 1. Will changing the network settings to bond eliminate the need for two wired connections? 2. Is it preferable to have the networks connections separate and not bonded? 3. If I bond them will it affect Plex streaming when I copy files to the array? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  6. I'll be accessing the Steam library once I move it to Unraid from a physical computer on the same network. At this moment I do not have 10G network but would consider upgrading if it would help.
  7. Hola, I have a huge Steam library and I'm planning on moving it to Unraid but before I do I wanted to get some help answering a few questions. I'm currently running 5 6TB IronWolf NAS drives with one in parity, a single 1TB Sabrent NVMe for cache, vm's, and dockers. The majority of my storage is dedicated to my Plex media. Here are my questions: 1. If I add my Steam games to the array, will it affect performance when streaming a video via Plex? I know I can tell the share to only use certain drives and it would be one way to separate it from my library. 2. Would using unassigned devices to dedicate a single drive for my Steam games a better option? If so, does the type of HDD I use matter? Meaning, should I use an IronWolf NAS drive or a drive geared towards gaming like a WD Black or FireCuda? 3. I'm assuming there will be bottlenecks, how can I try to ameliorate these (upgrading network to 10G, faster drive or using an NVMe)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
