  1. So you did not need to use Unraid creation to re-do the Usb Boot Key?
  2. Thanks itimpi If I understand correctly I should be able to use Unraid creation for 6.11.5 and just copy over my old config directory onto the original USB key and be back where I was before the upgrade attempt.
  3. Ok I know I can copy the original flash (failed upgrade) to a directory on the PC, I'm assuming the upgrade would not affect configuration files so that I can just copy them back to the flash drive (USB). But which ones? I also have a Connect backup but trying to not have to redo passwords. Yes I must stick with 6.11.5 as 6.12.0 does not work on my server.
  4. Precision Tower 5820 Xeon W-2155 32Gig, 10Gig NIC Will not boot past the boot up GUI As an upgrade or plain jane new install
  5. Well I was a tester and tried 6.12 plain Jane; it did not change the outcome it will not boot past the Bootup Gui. Plain Jane 6.11.5 will startup as expected. So now this Precision Tower 5820 Xeon W-2155 32Gig, 10Gig NIC can be added to the unsupported list.
  6. It did not List my system as a known issue, but like you I blame myself. I have no need to upgrade other than security. No Idea if Xeon W2155 is 11th Gen but 6.12 plain jane will not boot past the startup GUI. Does not change the fact that Unraid has always been tooted as the NAS on everything. Yes I realize that Linux is probably the issue but as an end user I do not follow that information around. Now I need to rebuild my USB drive to be somewhat like before. Not knowing that the online usb backup was not a complete backup and need to redo all the passwords from a system that has been setup for a couple of years. Would have preferred all the data being wiped out as that is mirrored to a Synology. Anybody know if there is a password file on the USB key that was installed originally? I would not think the upgrade attempt would have wiped out the configuration files from the original.
  7. Yes. That is a logical solution if I wanted to test the Release Candidate, but this is suppose to be STABLE. I will try to figure out how to get my online backup and just revert to the 6.11.5 release that worked flawlessly for me. After all this is a server not a client machine, I need working not testing.
  8. I would not normally enter into this fray of opinions. But I have broken my own rule of waiting for the next release and hence broke my system. What does STABLE mean? What does the UPGRADE ASSISTANT do? Not a STABLE release with so many people having issues, and if it does not work on all systems then why release it. Or at least put a CAVEAT at the TOP of the GUI with known issues.
  9. Ok, it will not boot past the Boot Options GUI, chose anything other than the first choice and Mem Test it just reboots back to the Boot options GUI so no chance of diagnostic file. Precision Tower 5820 Xeon W-2155 32Gig, 10Gig NIC added First choice gets stuck at second line (no memory of what it says) all the other choices safe mode with without GUI and plugins reboots. From Unraid 6.11.5 to 6.12 Options??
