  1. Can't believe I missed that one before, feel a bit daft now. It's an old mobo so think it's as up to date as it's gonna get but worth a look for sure. Glad to know it's ignorable at any rate! Thank you so much for the help. Puts the mind at ease haha.
  2. Hi all, Recently had to move my unraid server from a HP microserver to a self built PC due to some hardware failures (and wanted to down size at the same time). I've had it up and running for a few days now and got a warning a couple days ago from fix common problems that there was a MCE error. Installed mcelog but I'm not seeing any helpful details. Unfortunately before I could get the full logs we had a power cut so the ones attached are not long after a reboot however they do mention the MCE. Can anyone help at all? Thanks! axiom-diagnostics-20220706-2326.zip
  3. Quite a newbie so didn't know about Nerdpack - although mutt (or alt) doesn't seem to be included yet. I may request as you've suggested but I'll try and install one myself first I think as why not? haha Thanks for the help!
  4. Hey all, I'm migrating from and Ubuntu based server and I was trying to set back up one of my scripts. It's a simple script that uses inotifywait to watch a folder and then emails (via mutt) any new pdf files to my kindle. The inotify part works well enough but obviously mutt isn't part of unraid. Is there a command line alternative or even a simple docker container I could use to the same effect? (Short of running a linux vm lol)
  5. Thanks for the help so far! That makes things a bit more straight forward then as a stock 2500 vs a stock 3770 is an easy win for the 3770 haha. From what i've read the hd-4000 igpu isn't up to much cope for plex transcoding is that correct? Finally looking forward I'm aiming for as new as I can afford Intel cpu (Hoping 9th gen or newer) and I plan to use the igpu for plex, I'd also like to use the new machine for gaming via a windows VM. From what I've seen so far passing a discrete gpu through to the VM would be easy enough and performance should be close to bare bones. Would using the igpu for plex transcoding cause a major performance hit? (Ignoring any cpu usage needed for the transcoding itself)
  6. Yeah that was my first thought - obviously raises the chance for errors and potential crashes. I only had it set this way as it was previously my gaming pc that I repurposed for a server and never bothered to change it as it was fairly solid. However I've not had any form of raid previously either. I'm guessing cpu errors/crashes won't be very helpful with unraid, could it even cause data loss?
  7. Hi All, Just starting my Unraid journey and planning out the move from my current Ubuntu + docker setup over to Unraid. I'm 90% of the way there mostly thanks to Spaceinvaders helpful videos. Currently my server is running with an i5-2500k with a modest/safe OC to 4.3. I also have a spare i7-3770 (non K) kicking about and I've been trying to figure out which would be best suited for the server. In general will the OC'd 2500 with 4 cores / 4 threads be a better option or will the higher thread count of the I7 be better? Main use will be as a plex server and the apps that go along with that, a few other more lightweight dockers and I've also been running a valheim server docker as well and may continue to do so. My plan moving forward is to invest in a new mobo/cpu but need to save up for that so meantime just want to get as much as possible from the current board.
