Updating from 7.2.x to 7.3.1 and keeping the flash drive
I'd like to leave both boot and licensing on the flash drive, for the time being. I skipped the "onboarding" wizard. Is there anything else I need to do until I decide to switch to internal boot? Would I keep seeing the onboarding screen after every boot?

format XFSv4 to XFSv5
OK, that worked, thanks. Just a suggestion, it would be great if the GUI could display the XFS version as well, without having to go to the log

format XFSv4 to XFSv5
I just updated to 7.2.0. I get a warning at login that my XFS v4 array drives should be updated to XFS v5. So I followed the guide: File systems | Unraid DocsSelecting a file system typeI emptied one drive, stopped the array, and but can see no way to upgrade from XFSv4 to XFSv5 - the GUI only has one generic "XFS" file system on the menu. How do I do this from the terminal, and should I bother?

best way to update OLD usb pro license
yes, sorry, new install. So 1. backup pro.key, 2. create 7.0.1 on the same stick, copy pro.key back in /config. And the license should still be OK, I guess?

best way to update OLD usb pro license
Not really a pre-sales question, more like post-sales, but I thought this would still make sense here than elsewhere. I have a old pro license I purchased several years ago as a backup. I still have the original USB stick, but the unRAID version on it must be ancient. What is the best way to install 7.0.1 and have pro licensed, providing my old license still valid.

X520-DA2 Port Flapping
I found myself in the same situation: X520 card (intel 82599 based) on unRAID server and microtik CRS305-1G-4S+IN switch, 10Gtek transceivers at both end. The ping was solid, but the link was going down very briefly every few seconds. For some reason the Microtik switch came with RouterOS enabled. Since I did not need the router funcionality, I thought I rebooted to the switch OS. Just like that, the flapping on the X520 link is gone. I just checked, and the link did not go down once overnight. Maybe just a coincidence, not sure, as always YMMV, but I thought I mentioned it. Transceivers are 10Gtek AXS85-192-M3, and the PCIe the card is also from 10Gtek, model X520-10G-1S-X8.

Re: Format XFS on replacement drive / Convert from RFS to XFS (discussion only)
I am planning on removing one of the smallest HDs (disk6) from the array, once the change from RFS to XFS is completed. To this end I kept disk6 as the last disk to get copied. Is the best way to accomplish removing a drive, short of rebuilding parity (stop the array, un-assign the drive, then run tools / new config)? Should I delete all data from disk6 before un-assigning. would that make any difference?

Re: Format XFS on replacement drive / Convert from RFS to XFS (discussion only)
Right, I should have figured that out. 3 disks done (out of 11), one in progress. I'm averaging 36 MB/s with the copying so far.

Re: Format XFS on replacement drive / Convert from RFS to XFS (discussion only)
disk21 is included in the folder share and something is writing to the share. I don't understand. The source drive is disk2. Shouldn't anything on disk2 have ended up on /mnt/disk21/t ? Now that cp is done, I can access /mnt/disk21/folder from Windows, all the files appear to be there. Do you think I can move everything to the root of disk21?

Re: Format XFS on replacement drive / Convert from RFS to XFS (discussion only)
I've started moving my backup server to XFS, following to the letter bjp999's instructions on the first page. I'm on step 7, and the first disk is being copied to the destination, and I noticed something odd. While most of the file are getting copied to the t folder, a few very recent files (along with new files that are being created) are going to a separate folder on the root: /mnt/disk21/t/ <most of the files are going here> /mnt/disk21/folder <a few recent files are going here> folder is a hidden share Also odd, a /mnt/disk21/t/folder has been created, but Windows tells me I have no rights to access it when I try to browse the content. Any ideas?
