Today I added a new drive to my unRAID server, started it up and it dies around the time the 2nd HD controller card is initializing the drives. After some troubleshooting I discovered it was the PSU. I put my desktop 1000W PSU in the server and it started fine with 17 drives. Yes, I added one more. All the parts for my unRAID server came from my old desktop. I just finished building my first unRAID server and wanted to setup 2 drives with hardware (motherboard) RAID1 (mirrored). I plan on using this RAID1 drive to store important files and figured this would give an additional level of protection. I setup my motherboard for RAID1 on 2 drives and 2 other drives with no RAID. When I go to the "Devices" tab on the UI I see all 4 drives listed. Is what I described above possible with unRAID and if so, which of the 2 drives listed on the "Devices" tab should I pick for my data drive? Rajahal, Yea, the WD drives are nice. For me, I prefer speed over power consumption. That WD is 5400 RPM vs 7200 RPM Seagate. I have 7 of these 1.5GB drives and so far they are working great. Thanks for sharing. -Christopher
