  1. I have installed the S3 sleep plugin and my unraid is going into sleep mode just fine. But I can't wake him up when I try to access the data. If I use an WOL-App it is working as intended. Is there any option to wake unraid up without the magic paket like a pattern? Any hints where I should have a look? I am running Unraid 6.5.1 and the S3 Sleep Plugin Version 2018.02.04 Thank you very much, Chris
  2. Wow! Thanks for that advice! Seems to work, today I did a big filetransfer and no error so far. I will report back, if I got more details!
  3. The memtest didn't show any errors. So good so far. Now I am running Unraid in safe mode, if an error occurs, I will post the syslog here. I added the unraid hardware specs in my profile! Here is the result of ifconfig: ifconfig -a eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr xxxxxxxx inet addr:192.168.1.4 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:7776690 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:3027117 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:112657252 (107.4 MiB) TX bytes:813732292 (776.0 MiB) Interrupt:43 Base address:0x8000 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:65536 Metric:1 RX packets:10 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:10 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:836 (836.0 B) TX bytes:836 (836.0 B) And what is suspicious, the transferrate while copying is kind of slow right now. Without parity it is between 5 MB/s and 10 MB/s on a gigabit ethernet. I think to remember that it was initially (when I set up the box) something around 30 MB/s. Or is the safe mode slowing down things?
  4. Hey, Thanks for the answer. Right now I am running a memtest. When I start the unraid tomorrow do I have to take some actions for thr syslog or do I just copy the file after the smb fails? I read some thing about some syslog sh scripts, do I need these? I am not at home tonight but I will post my hardware tomorrow. Cheers, Chris
  5. Still not working properly After some time the SMB crashes... I created a new thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=29767.msg267484#msg267484 Any help is appreciated
  6. Hi there, I have a very annoying problem with my new built unraid box (unRAIDServer-5.0-i386) (?). From the beginning everything worked fine but now on a regular basis my connection to the share is lost when I copy files to it. I already double checked all IPs in my network and as I am using DHCP I dont have any conflicting IPs. Also I switched the lan cables and the router. Neither helped... When I copy the syslog after a network loss, I don't see many entries, but there are no errors. I reinstalled unraid already, just to make sure it is not an addon issue. But no luck. Any hints how I should try to solve this issue? Should I buy a NIC, because right now I am using the onboard (ASUS P8H77-I Mini ITX) NIC? Or should I swap all the SATA cables, even if I don't see any errors? Cheers, Chris
  7. The computer and unrauid are connected to a netgear WNDR3700 which is just used as a switch. The WNDR3700 is connected to my router, which I have to use because of my ISP... I will check right now that the WNDR3700 is doing nothing (like DNS or so). I just checked the unraid log and I am a bit worried about that SMB restarts: Oct 10 10:54:57 TOWER emhttp: Spinning up all drives... Oct 10 10:54:57 TOWER emhttp: Start array... 8. Yop! I ordered some Noctua's, just to be sure I think I will try some other cables or maybe give the server a fixed ip... It is really strange. Maybe this question should be posted in an own thread, I dont want to disturb too much over here
  9. I just ordered some new fans, I will tell you if they are much more silently Did any of you experience some network issues with this build? It happened already twice to me, I start a big file transfer in the morning and when I come home in the evening I got an error in Win7 telling me it can't reach the share (smb)... If open the share again, everything is fine...
  10. Hm strange... I would call it very loud and it bothers me, even if the server is in the hallway... Maybe I really have to switch em... But even so I would prever a controlled fan :-) I will give it a try to connect the top one to the mobo and the front one to the psu!
  11. It is done! Thanks to all of you! I just assembled my first Unraid-Server and with all the good compenents it was very easy! Thank you Sanchez for your build as my buildplan and thx garycase for the powersupply advice, there is so much "air" in the tower right now! :-) How did you connect the 2nd case fan to the motherboard? I connected the big one in the front to the fan controller on the board, but the one on the top of the case just to the power cable --> So it is not controlled and terrible loud! What temps do you have in BIOS, my CPU is at 36° C and the fan at 1590 rpm? Is that ok? Right now I am preclearing and very happy. Thx again! Next installing addons, configuring and ordering the Unraid Pro is upcoming... Chris
  12. Allright that shouldnt be too hard. Sorry for hijacking this Thread... One last question: i am looking for a board that supports wol with unraid and / or a boot scheduler in the bios (e.g. start every day at 5). Is the often used asus P8H77-I supports those function in unraid? Cheers
  13. Awesome! Thank you all. So I will order the non modular one and will have a look if I really need to cut the unused cable.
  14. Wow that sounds great! Thx for the quick answer. So I will have a look into silverstone non modular. What about the noise, is it louder than the cx430? What Do you think? Cheers
  15. Hey I am looking for nearly the same build.Which modular psu would you recommend? Would be awesome if I could order it in europe. Thx
