  1. Unplugged hard drive. Reseated sas card. Moves power connector around for sas. Removed random molex that was not being used. Turned system on wiped drive with issue. Passed smart test Reassigned drive as parity. Started the array and parity sync worked. Also unscheduled mover (heard this was a problem with 6.12.x) Array has been up a couple days. Tbd
  2. That's weird I definitely ran diagnostics after the server rebooted. No useful info?
  3. Something I just noticed. After this reboot the drive is not even showing on the unassigned devices list (bizarre).
  4. So, I turned on syslog server. My parity drive on the array had a red x. I ran self test everything looked fine. I unmounted started it up. Stopped it. Reassigned same drive. Passed parity check (supposedly). Cause when I came to check the array was stopped. When I started it back up the red x was back. Ran another self test short one this time and the server rebooted. See diagnostics attached. tower-diagnostics-20231001-0711.zip
  5. Hi all. Can someone help me troubleshoot. I finally got things setup the way I wanted and decided it was time to leave the server up and running. Now I have an issue where the server crashes and reboots. See diagnostic report attached. I have not gotten ones for most recent crash where it did not reboot itself. Any help is appreciated. anontower-diagnostics-20230926-2342.zip
  6. Been slowly getting parts for my NAS/Plex/Gaming VM. I have never setup unRAID server before. See parts list below: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WDf8Bj +LSI 9300-16i 16-port SAS card +Asus BW-16D1HT - need to flash to libre mode May get a gpu for the gaming VM (if I do will do igpu passthrough for Plex) My thoughts so far: -20tb x 2 = parity and storage for Plex media -10tb x 3 = zfs setup (important docs and family pictures/videos - items that I cannot lose) -2 nvme drives for parity cache -1 nvme drive (could I use this directly for the gaming VM? If I want to use the optical drive to backup my media do I need a separate VM? How should I allocate cores/threads and ram? Am I using the hardware in the best way? Should I set it up differently?
  7. Do you think I would have to essentially replace everything to get the system to work? Or just a few components. I was planning on buying 3 nas drives already.
  8. Pretty noob level when it comes to networking and servers. I built my windows pc as a gaming rig a while back (years ago), see link for parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/myongha/saved/4Yxscf Is this enough to run an unraid nas with parity for files storage / plex media server / gaming? If so, how would I go about setting this up (as i stated complete noob).
