Can the firmware be upgraded on them while in an unRaid server or do you have to do it in a different box?

True, I wanted quiet with great air flow. They seem to do the trick.

I used these in the fan bracket:

And these for the back:

Seem to be working well now that I turned my fan bracket around

And probably only playable back on the system that recorded them.

Grrr... have to haul it out again then. I need a quick release system At least it confirms my suspicions. I was worried that moving them back would reduce the cooling but I can't live with them like this.

Ok, so I got the 120mm fan plate and some 120mm fans. Here's the issue... how do all the cables actually fit! I put the fans in the same way as the ones I took out, which puts them right up against the power plugs and SATA cables. No way I can turn this on without it chewing up wires. Should I put the fans on the other side of the plate instead so it is now between the fans and the wires? I've got plenty of room on that side, but I was trying to duplicate the old fan plate. Getting tired of taking it in and out

Finally back down to a good price
-
It shows as available but if you add to your cart it says out of stock.

I chatted with a fairly nice CSR. She said their systems show it discontinued and OD will not get any more stock. She did offer to place an in store order for me at the BF price, I just have to drive 20 miles to pick them up. *shrug* I guess I will.
-
They absolutely are screwing with us. You can order it right now, it is in stock online. They have no reason not to fill the orders now other than they hope we will give up and cancel them.
-
No one has bought them yet... Raj, are you going to take them since I haven't heard from fitbrit?
-
Hrm... how the heck do you patch your drives in unRaid? Pull them and patch on another machine, then put them back?
-
I'm still waiting backordered items.
-
You could if you mounted it inside the case with velcro.
-
Plus with the 4224 you can get the new fan plate, not have to hack it up, and make your 4224 a WHOLE lot quieter

I think many more people have 4k sector drives than Macs. Maybe I'm wrong, but I see it as a bigger issue especially with the January swap to only 4k.
-
Ok, one of you two let me know
-
Did I price it too high?
-
Being selfish I'd like a 4.6.1 Even if this was the only fix to it. But I understand if you want a stable 5.x version for it.
-
Thanks Peter, I appreciate it.

Definately not the easiest But I agree, it is the best bet. That I could script with reasonable confidence (although the dedupe might take some work).

Wow... so you are completely duplicating between two unRaid systems? I wonder if you could build two with multiple NICs and use a private network on Nic2 for the duplication traffic to keep it off your LAN. Or are you going even further and doing multi-site duplication?
2 x AOC-SASLP-MV8 + MSI H55M-ED55... Drive issues and hangs

I'm trying to get my 4224 up and running after migrating out of my CM Stacker case. It's been an interesting experience, learning valuable lessons like ALWAYS SCREW THE DRIVES TO THE TRAYS! That said, I have some issues.
1) In the CM Stacker I had my first 6 drives hooked to my MB. So I bought 2 of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816133033&Tpk=NORCO%20C-SFF8087-4S
I had them hooked to ports 1-6 on my MB, with the two spares just hanging out for a better day. My MB doesn't see them anymore Shows zero connected SATA devices. So that's bad.
2) I moved the drives down in the case so that it was on the controller cards. The two cards see the 6 drives (4 on 1, two on another just to make sure the cards worked). But once I get past the part where it displays the detected drives it just hangs where it says press Ctrl-M or Space. If I wait too long hitting those two does nothing. Hitting ctrl-alt-del reboots. I've let it sit for 10 minutes at that screen with no progress. I can't get into the MB bios either because that doesn't come until after the SAS cards boot.
Soooo... I seem to be stuck Any ideas on what I can do? I'm out of the water right now. I'm guessing the SAS cards are somehow stopping the MB from detecting the SATA drives, but why can't I get past that part
