Well I moved files from another disc on to the newly installed disc and I'm worried those newly moved files would be lost if I rebuild.

Okay, and that won't overwrite any existing files? (just want to make sure I don't lose anything?

Ah, okay. I'm moving files over to the drive now (with Unbalance) so what I'm thinking is I will movie all those files back on to other drives, let the drive rebuild and then move the files again? However since there would already be files on that drive, how would unbalance handle the duplicate files (skip, replace or other?)

I'm in the process of converting my filesystem to XFS using the swap method described in the other post: -Using Unbalance I emptied all the data from one drive (4tb) but replaced it with a new 8TB drive. -Formatted the new drive to xfs & started the array, however it wanted to do a parity rebuild. -Stopped the parity rebuild and using Unbalance to move the contents from another disc in the array (which I will convert to xfs when empty and rinse and repeat until all the discs are converted. ) -however when moving files to the new disc is still has a yellow triangle and says (DEVICE CONTENTS EMULATED CLICK TO SPIN DOWN DEVICE) It looks like it wants to rebuild, but I just need to move files from the other disc over. Is there anything I can do to stop Unraid trying to do the rebuild, or will this triangle change to green once the files are moved on to it?

I recently installed PLEX Media Server docker on my Unraid system, I am trying to access the web UI again to configure it from the Dashboard (and also Docker page) but I’m now getting the error: "The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web." I tried reinstalling it and searching for this topic with no luck. Any idea why I am now getting this?

Alright, I'm probably jinxing things by posting this and it will go down tonight, but as of NOW things are working fine without any dropped connection problems. I'll keep an eye open and keep you posted if anything further happens. Thanks for all your help! Phil

That would probably be my internet router. I have everything connected through the D-Link since it's a GB switch, but I have the D-Link connected to a wireless router which is connected to the cable modem. The wireless router only has my laptop, tablet, etc (since it's a "SLOWER" switch) but everything else is isolated together on the faster D-Link switch. I've renamed: the /boot(flash)/config/plugins directory the /boot(flash)/plugins directory the boot(flash)/extra/ and rebooted I started the management utility using the /usr/local/sbin/emhttp& command & it came back with [1] 1700 (I wasn't sure about the !/bin/bash, but it said it didn't recognize it anyways) Does this automatically use the stock GO file when I reboot? I'm sorry, It's on a D-Link DGS-108 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch (not a router, my bad) My server and computer are all on the same switch and everything worked no problem before when I had this configuration. I'm not sure if the "go file" is stock or not. I'm always a bit nervous of loosing the array so I haven't modified anything except for upgrading.

Thanks, I'll pull them and post tonight. After this all started happening I did replace the router I was using, however no improvement. I'm thinking the next steps would probably be replacing the network cable and then if that doesn't work, the network card (I'm using the network's mobo port but have a spare gb network card.) I'm going to hold off though until you check the log. The back of the RAID enclosure is a bit tricky to get into (it's in a rack) but I'll see if we can pinpoint the problem before ripping everything apart. Thanks, Phil

I've been having communication problems with my Unraid. A week or two ago my connection began dropping with no communication with the GUI or the drives, but when looking at the command line everything looks normal (I get the Login prompt and can execute the shutdown and restart commands without problem) I'd restart, start the array with the parity check and everything would be fine but the connection would drop again once the parity check completed a day or two later. I've upgraded to the latest version running Simplefeatures which was working but with the same problems. I rebooted again and disabled all the plugins (Simplefeatures) but have no communication at all (but again, command line is working fine at the Login prompt) There were no errors reported during parity (that I could see at least), and attaching my most recent syslog files from the past day. I've been loosing connection my array on a regular basis. About 2 weeks ago it started going offline every few days, now it's happening almost daily. I notice the drive light on one of my discs goes out (Disc 9 which I installed a couple of weeks ago) but once I reboot my unraid (I can do it through the command console), all the drives come back up, I re-start the array with a parity check and it works fine for the next day or so. I haven't seen any errors on any of the drives and I'm a bit worried this may be the beginning of a bigger problem, so I'm posting here to see if anyone has any ideas. I know some people on this forum did get sleep working with the same config. (I've sent them an e-mail but got no response) I replaced my network card (which apparently was the culprit) but still no luck. If anyone can help, I'm getting desperate. Thanks!

Hi All, Have been working with this for about 3 months (reading forum posts, followed the wiki, ran a different scripts, etc. and am still having issues getting sleep to work. Below are my stats and my syslog is attached. When I attempt the manual sleep command (echo 3 >/proc/acpi/sleep) I'm getting this: "-bash: /proc/acpi/sleep: No such file or directory" Also when I try sleeping from Simple Features 1.0.11 it goes to sleep, I run the Wakeup.bat script with no response. I hit the power button to wake and the drive starts up, but WEB GUI goes down, no access to telnet or command line screen and I can't access my drives so I have to do a manual restart and parity check and all that fun stuff every time. Again, it's been about 3 months and I REALLY need to get sleep working, (I'm in need to cut down on my power usage) Thanks! syslog.zip

I've been trying the sleep command from the SF 1.0.11 with no luck. Upon clicking SLEEP the system locks up and can no longer access the Web GUI. After a manual restart I received the UNCLEAN SHUTDOWN notification & the system goes into a parity check once the array goes back online. I've checked and re-checked the BIOS setup & recently installed an Intel Pro 1000 and could get it to sleep, but no wakeup. Now suddenly it just hangs on sleep. Same here. I'll post more details when I get back however I followed the BIOS setup, batch script and other instructions on the SF wiki & cannot get the system to sleep from the command prompt (I'm getting the /proc/acpi/sleep: No such file or directory error). I CAN get it to sleep through SF but get no response when running the batch script (modified for my system) with the WOL.exe. I have to do a manual wake from the power button (which also leaves me without access to the web GUI & have to do a hard re-start) I 'm using my Asus board which, after doing a few searches on the forums, read was causing problems, however I bought an Intel PCI 1000 card and which worked for others with the same board and am getting the same results.

What unRAID version are you using ? unRAID Pro 5.0 rc-11 It can be a lack of memory problem, killing the emhttp process. Check if emhttp is listening... (your port may be different as shown here ) Here's what it's listing: emhttp 18717 root 3u IPv4 23098 0t0 TCP *:http (LISTEN) I rebooted however SimpleFeatures is now disabled & it's back to the Unraid default GUI. I haven't added the cleared disk to the array yet but everything else is running normally. Syslog attached. syslog.zip
