  1. Hi,

I am trying to set up backup transfers via SFTP from server A to my Unraid server. I've allowed SSH access to a new unraid user I've created. That user only has Read/Write permissions to one Private share that I set up specifically for that user. However if I SSH with the user credentials, I have access to pretty much everything (media/appdata/etc), even though under Shares appdata is set to No Access. (alarmingly - i can easily read the Authelia config inside appdata...makes me think I need to go through docker created file permissions in general).

Does 'Shares' settings not affect access that SSH users get?

    Thanks!

  2. Hi!

Came back home quite tired and randomly decided to upgrade unraid...and for the first time didn't back up my USB as all the previous updates went really smoothly.

Unraid refuses to boot and gets stuck on the OS selection menu (attaching video from iLo). Choosing the 1st option manually just cycles the timer back to 5 seconds. Other choices don't work either.

I was unable to attach the video directly,  so here's the link: https://imgur.com/a/5plRu5K (might need to fullscreen)

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks

  3. Hi.

I have a user set up for my wife to access samba shares. Oddly, i've just noticed having ran 'ps aux' in the terminal that Redis docker process is running as my wife's username. Really bizzare.

    My docker run is here:

    docker run
      -d
      --name='redis'
      --net='delta'
      -e TZ="Europe/London"
      -e HOST_OS="Unraid"
      -e HOST_HOSTNAME="Adulis"
      -e HOST_CONTAINERNAME="redis"
      -e 'ALLOW_EMPTY_PASSWORD'='no'
      -e 'REDIS_PASSWORD'='REDACTED'
      -e 'REDIS_EXTRA_FLAGS'='--auto-aof-rewrite-percentage 100
      --auto-aof-rewrite-min-size 64mb'
      -l net.unraid.docker.managed=dockerman
      -l net.unraid.docker.icon='https://raw.githubusercontent.com/A75G/docker-templates/master/templates/icons/redis.png'
      -p '6379:6379/tcp'
      -v '/mnt/user/appdata/redis':'/bitnami/redis':'rw'
      -v '/mnt/user/appdata/redis/bitnami/':'/bitnami/':'rw' 'bitnami/redis:latest'

    The command finished successfully!

    root@Adulis:~# ps aux |grep redis
    wifesusename 20655  0.5  0.0  35248 12972 ?        Ssl  18:47   0:00 redis-server 0.0.0.0:6379
    root     21159  0.0  0.0   4048  2216 pts/0    S+   18:47   0:00 grep redis

Really bizzare. Any idea why that's so ?

  4. Hi all,

I have recently upgraded from Microserver gen8 to Gen10+ and started having occasional system slowdowns/freezes.

These events happened roughly 2-3 times each in the last 2 months or so:

-Unraid UI becomes incredibly slow. Login page loads fine, logging in doesn't complete with just the orange Unraid logo loading. This happened again today, however I managed to pull diagnostics via ssh.

Last time it happened, SSH was also extremely sluggish. After entering password, it'd take minutes to get to terminal and any command would take ages to complete. Ping to server was normal (1-3ms, no packet loss).

-I would find the system frozen completely. No access to WebUI/ssh, however dockers would continue working.

    Reboot solves the problem.

After pulling diagnostics I've also tried

    /etc/rc.d/rc.nginx reload - no effect

    and

    /etc/rc.d/rc.docker stop - no effect

    Any ideas ? Thanks

  5. Just started getting this issue. I found a post with a very similar looking problem from mid-2022, but posting this as a separate thread for easier followup.

All dockers work and are easily accessible via their interfaces.

SSH to the server takes forever to prompt for password, after entering password - at least a few minutes to show terminal. GUI has now been loading for at least 5-10 minutes and hasn't yet come up. I managed to get to the terminal eventually. `top` doesn't show any excessive shortage of resources (attaching screenshot). Ping to server <1ms and no packet loss.

Recently, perhaps 2-3 times the server required button-reset as it wasn't accessible. It's a microserver gen10plus and stupidly display port doesn't work unless you connect something to it from boot. Considering getting the iLO enablement module.

Trying to run 'diagnostics' in terminal, but so far it's taking forever and I'm not yet sure how to retrieve that file as getting to the server via samba doesn't seem to be an option too.

    Ideas ?

    P.S Unraid 6.11.5

EDIT: webui finally loaded with error 500 (500 Internal Server Error). Waiting for diagnostics to generate.

  6. Hi,

I updated to 6.10.3 recently and whenever I try to access the local IP address, it tries to use SSL, but I get 'Connection not secure' or 'Certificate not valid'. Previously whenever I addressed the IP directly it would translate into the long *.unraid.net address and work fine.

I have cleared and 'Provisioned' new certificate without it fixing the issue.

    Diagnostics attached.

    Thanks

  7. this is what running ethtool eth0 shows - seems like it's running at 1000 already ? GUI also says it's running at 1000mbps. I literally did not do anything except update to 6.10.1.

  8. As title suggests. I'm running several docker containers and recently noticed that my nzb's are only downloading at 10-11MB/s (previously - 40-45 as my broadband speeds) . Ran a few speedtests from within random docker containers - they're all maxing out at 100mbps (WAN and LAN).

I have upgraded to 6.10.1, however I'm not sure whether the issue started before or after.

    Where do i start ?

  9. Hi,

Strange thing happened yesterday. Out of nowhere my zigbee2mqtt docker stopped recognizing the usb coordinator  (I was setting up some devices and a minute later the docker is down, log says 'path not found' to my usb device. Did some troubleshooting, e.g. tried adding the same USB device to a different docker which worked - I was able to see it in /dev/serial/by-id/...

I had to leave it for next time.

Just came back to it and tried restarting the docker service via GUI, however it wouldn't restart since some paths are incorrect. Went to terminal and realized that /mnt/user/ doesn't exist anymore (only /mnt/user0 / and other directories). Not only that - all the shares have disappeared in the GUI.

What happened ? I'm confused...happened out of nowhere - no major updates, nothing.

After typing the last sentence I thought i'd reboot and got this 'kernel panic'. Seems like something broke before the docker issues. Although Unraid didn't show any errors, all other dockers worked and I was able to access the array.

    Thanks

  10. RIght..so it finished succesfully (...i guess?).  I found an old 2TB drive that I'm about to add to an empty slot. What's the best way to proceed ? Thinking to move what I can off the bad 4tb drive to the 2tb at least temporarily. Although if parity is 'Green', do i have to ? Provided I get the bad one replaced.

    Thanks

  11. Hi,

yesterday I migrated from Truenas Scale to Unraid and am absolutely loving it so far, however things started getting a bit sketchy today.

    My setup:

    Microserver Gen8/Xeon E3-1260L/12GB ram/2x 4TB WD Red/1x 250GB SSD

Whilst using Truenas my both 4TB drives were in a ZFS pool (mirrored).

During migration I used the Unraid ZFS plugin to mount the whole pool, tried offlining one drive(Drive1) and checked whether I can still access the online ZFS drive (Drive2), which I could. I then formatted drive1 and manually copied approx 2tb of mostly media from Drive 2 to Drive1 which was the only drive in the array. I then 'destroyed' the zfs pool and set drive2 as my parity drive, letting unraid do parity rebuild/sync.

It's been running for approx 6, however I started getting read errors (approx 30000 at the moment) in Drive1 (the one in array). It did slow down substantially at that point (from 130MB/s to kilobytes), however currently it's still running at a decent, but slower speed (~90MB/s).

I will let it finish, however I have a feeling something's trying to break - I'm just not sure how far from breaking that 'something' is.

My SSD is set as a cache drive.

After it finishes sync'ing, how do I proceed ? Some pointers to diagnose the issue would be much appreciated. For now I have stopped the dockers i've set up and am just letting it finish building parity.

    Thanks
