Is my system setup somehow different than everyone else’s ? just about every tutorial I watch I can get it to work correctly by the time my trial is up I will be lucky to even get to actually trial this thing.

haha I really need to create a better habit of checking my connections the sata power supply was ajar and wasn't powering the drive

under system devices i can see the drives that have been installed but nothing on there newly connected one

havent tried that i will have to through the video card back in it and plug in a monitor, Is there a way to check the bios in unraid?

Dose any one know how i can get a new hard drive to show up? I stoped the array and rebooted the system and still nothing shows up in unassigned devices. I removed it and plugged it into a docker on my other computer to format the new disk and re install into the server and still nothing?

as soon as you said the 169... is failed DHCP i took a closer look at my network wiring a boom there it is, Just purchased a new WiFi router and i had my Ethernet switch wired straight to the modem and not the return cable from the router, thank you for the help gonna up those holes in the wall but i am sure i will will be back with the next roadblock but i will come here first before taking it out on the wall.

I believe i was able to do that at one point but just tried now and the connection fails or times out. also the ip address it gives me is different than what i am used to seeing if that is of any value.

once unraid is booted in my system i go to my other computer and I cant get the IP or the web address to launch the gui. I have tried adjusting my bios settings. i have tried updating them as well and still nothing. tried legacy mode and eufi mode. even tried the local bupass gui on that computer still i have jack to show for it. anyways I need to go put some holes in walls for a little while hope someone will be able to help.
