  1. Hi guys, another newbie here! The last few days I've been experiencing pretty high latency (generally a few hundred µs, sometimes upwards of 1 ms, but also seen something crazy like 80 s (actually saw 200 s just now on Wdf01000.sys) ). I'm not really sure when and why it started. A few weeks back it all ran fine and as expected. Since then, the only significant change to the system was the addition of a NVMe cache drive, which the vdisk since runs off. I have huge stuttering issues, where the video output freezes for a few milliseconds. And when playing any kind of video, I see a spike in the video decoder usage of the GPU (task manager or HWiNFO), although using software decoding results in the same issue. This happens, like I said, in any kind of scenario (i.e. using Plex, a browser or a general video player). Gaming, of course, is just as bad, if not worse, and is completely impossible. I'm running a 3700X with 32 GB of RAM as my host, of which 4 core pairs (4/12, 5/13, 6/14, 7/15) have been isolated and assigned to the VM (together with 16 GB RAM). I'm on the newest release (6.10.0-rc7), BIOS etc. is all up-to-date. Furthermore, I'm passing through my 1650, a Wi-Fi- / Bluetooth-Card and a bit of my USB controller for easy front-IO access. Below is my XML config: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?> <domain type='kvm'> <name>Windows 10</name> <uuid>5bfdbc52-08ff-9eb4-e11d-28b9f8918c8a</uuid> <metadata> <vmtemplate xmlns="unraid" I already used the MSI fix and did some general troubleshooting steps (driver reinstallation, using a clean installation for tests etc.). I'm very willing to provide any kind of information necessary or do any kind of tests… I'm very desperate, since I'm working on this for over a week and achieved seemingly nothing. 🥲 Gonna keep trying to find a solution and keep all my findings up-to-date below… Thanks very much in advanced, any kind of help is much appreciated! 😅 Edit: posted it in the wrong forum section first (was in "General Support")… reposted it now in the correct place! Edit2: also just noticed a huge increase in hard pagefaults in LatencyMon during these latency spikes… Edit3: I've found a set of HyperV enlightenments that seem to have fixed the absolute worst latency spikes… it's still not done / perfect, but I'm hopefully on a good way to get the performance back that I used to have 😁 below is the HyperV config I now run (still need to find out, what this actually does, but my main goal atm is still to increase performance): <hyperv mode='custom'> <vpindex state='on'/> <synic state='on'/> <stimer state='on'/> <reset state='on'/> <vendor_id state='on' value='2D76A8B352F1'/> <frequencies state='on'/> </hyperv> oh yeah, and I also added an I/O-thread as well as an emulator-pin... both also helped a bit, but not nearly as much as the config edit above!
  2. Hi guys, for some reason, Grafana won't start… at all. It didn't create any log file or similar, so I don't really know where to start troubleshooting. The system log also seems pretty normal (no kinds of error message etc.). The Grafana folder in the appdata is, in general, completely empty (don't know if that's normal behavior). When I tell the docker to start, it's just loading for a second and then stops doing anything. I'm pretty new to this stuff, so there could be something obvious missing, which I just don't know yet. Any kind of help is much appreciated! 🙂 edit: found a fix in an old German forum post... thx @Ford Prefect! the permissions for the Grafana user isn't set correctly for some reason... cd /mnt/user/appdata chmod a+rwX grafana
