    sorry for the late reply, this worked, I set use cache to "yes" and reset the drives I wanted it on and now everything is working properly. thank you for the help.

    hello, I recently had a power outage and my unraid server went down, now instead of my vms being on the array disks, they are only on the cache disk. my config is: 3 2TB drives (two for array, one for parity) 1 500GB ssd for one of the high usage vm's 1 800GB sun f80 as a cache disk currently, i can't get the vm that uses the 500 GB ssd to boot, as it says that the vdisk is not found (it is manually set to use the 500 GB ssd as the location for it's vdisk) thanks in advance for your help.
