  1. Thanks l...And yet still it seems for those self hosting and are possibly wanting to unfaang themselves, tailscale requires full nerd certification. I have unraid and so may apps in dockers working so well locally for years and it shouldn't be this hard to have access outside of my network. I have tried to set up OICD auth with four different providers, watching tutorials and searching help and i just end up with too many acronyms and a high level of expected knowledge. There has to be a simpler way or instructions that are in simple language somewhere?
  2. This is the type of answer I get from Support. The story to them is unbelievable so therefor I'm lying. I'm not sure what the motivation would be for lying given that resolving the issue with a new USB and license transfer is not difficult. I can state that I did not re register the same exact time as I rebooted from update to 7.2.2. all day, but refusing to believe me does not sort the issue. No one wants their software to have an unknown bug. I get it, it so often is user error. I just don't want to lose access to MY files every time I update
  3. Support are reasonably fast to respond via unraid.net. create a ticket and youl be back within a day or two depending on time zone differences
  4. I have had this discussion with support. They answered with advice but keep saying to replace the original usb. I get the feeling they think im not telling the truth. However if their system is switching licenses thats a serious issue IMO. I like unraid. I dont want to have to look for something more reliable. yes im just going to change the USB key.....but it doesnt seem like the usb key was even the issue
  5. Thanks for reply @JorgeB Its the only flash drive connected ever since 2020. The flash drive did not change GIUD that any records show. This is what I assumed happened but Unraid still shows the original GUID it was registered to. I have the 2020 receipt. What changed is the GUID my account says its registered to.
  6. 1. I Licensed Unraid in 2020 . USB licence reciept shows registration to FLASH GUID XXXX 2. Works fine for over four years. I'm loving it.. My physical Unraid server sits in corner and NO ONE else is even here that could access it and the USB drive is NEVER removed. Update to 7.2.2 while doing NOTHING else to the server no setting changes etc. Reboot On reboot array cannot be restarted so no server. A warning is displayed "Registration key / USB Flash GUID mismatch" Flash GUID: XXXX Registered GUID: YYYY Registered on: Mon, 24 November 2025 (DATE I UPDATED AND REBOOTED) I talk to support. They send me a registration link that shows my original Order number back in 2020 but its registered to FLASH GUID YYYY. Support say put the original USB key back in.. It never left the server I Provide support screen grabs of above and they say it shows the USB has changed. How can it have changed when it shows my USB the same GUID now as when registered back in 2020. Now I'm happy to to replace the USB but what happened?. Does this kind of thing happen with unraid often?. Can I rely on a server that can have this type of issues?
  7. Yes. And now still with no unrais as new USB drive has taken ages to be delivered... ... I dig through years old emails when I purchased licence to discover my guid IS correct as registered and UNRAID is just wrong. I suspect unraid service (although pleasantly helpful) must know this also as they surely have the records also. I think im being gaslit and there is more to it. My guid hasn't changed and the moment I updated to 7.2.2 unraid said my registration was for another guid, which documents say is untrue, then the software surely is at fault.
  8. I just had my usb GUID change also. [EDIT... Just found original registration. My guid is correct and unraid is wrong. ] Pretty sure the unraid help guys don't believe that happened and think I changed the USB drive though. I was instructed to put the USB with the correct guid back in. My guess is it suggests my usb is dying but in the meantime I have no server. Ilive a long way from retail or even delivery. If USB drives are this unreliable it seems dumb that the whole system relies on it. and that an impossibly old type of key is recommended. If the lifespan is expected to only be a few years then at least there should be system warnings to replace it.
  9. thanks, have started a ticket. Now my unraid.net account says i have an expired trial licence 5 years out of date? but i don't. ability to "manage server" and replace key has now disappeared. Server now reachable but no array.
  10. So i updated and immediately got warning GUID id was incorrect, cannot contact unraid server at all unraid.net account says it has no record of me purchasing a licences. It also says "Your server is using a different USB flash drive than the one registered with your license? but its not
