  1. I have my array already filled - 28 drives, with no parity. 20 drives are in my 20 HDD server case and then another 8 in my 24 HDD storage case connected via HBA. Is it possible to expand storage with say a pool of another x amount of drives in maybe a raid 0 and still have it fall within the same share? Then using the "Use cache pool" setting choose 'Yes' and then select my newly created pool of extra drives? This way new files that are added just go to the cache under the same folder structure as the array (would just be regular hdd's no ssd's) but with no intention of them getting moved from that pool when the mover runs as the array storage is already full. Curious if this is possible or maybe get some insight if there is a better way of bypassing the 28 drives while still keeping the file structure under one tree.
  2. Ah, I understand now. Apologies!
  3. I apologize in advance, apparently I'm not allowed to post in all sub-forums. I hope that this can be moved to the Containers section or, worst case, live here instead of being removed. Simple and stupid question. The time in Machinaris does not match that of my server and I'm looking to fix this. Are there any steps that I can follow to change the TZ within the app? Any guidance is much appreciated!
  4. Thanks so much for the quick replies!
  5. Got it, appreciate the answer! Is it correct that if one drive fails that other drives are unaffected? If that's true a least I can gain another 8TB at the risk of no data recovery of a failed drive.
  6. Hi all. This may be a stupid question but here we go anyway. I have 2 Unraid servers setup. My first has 22x 8TB drives and 1 parity. My second has no parity and currently has 12 drives of varying sizes from 12TB to 4TB. I'm trying to maximize the amount of space allocated and have noticed the server with Parity starts each new drive added with more space used than the server with no parity. I'm guessing this is all parity information. If I recall correctly, if you have no parity and a drives dies, you only lose the data on that one drive and the data on the others remains unaffected. If both these assumptions are correct, I'm OK with losing a drive and the data if it happens to fail, however my question is: If I remove the parity drive from the server, will I gain that space back on the existing drives after I "New Config" or is that space lost forever unless I wiped and rebuilt? Thanks for your help!
