July 1, 20224 yr I have my array already filled - 28 drives, with no parity. 20 drives are in my 20 HDD server case and then another 8 in my 24 HDD storage case connected via HBA. Is it possible to expand storage with say a pool of another x amount of drives in maybe a raid 0 and still have it fall within the same share? Then using the "Use cache pool" setting choose 'Yes' and then select my newly created pool of extra drives? This way new files that are added just go to the cache under the same folder structure as the array (would just be regular hdd's no ssd's) but with no intention of them getting moved from that pool when the mover runs as the array storage is already full. Curious if this is possible or maybe get some insight if there is a better way of bypassing the 28 drives while still keeping the file structure under one tree.

You would set it to use pool Only to get new files to stay on the pool and be ignored by mover. Yes means move to the array and Prefer means move to pool. In addition to that setting, you also need to specify which pool to use. I assume you already have a pool named "cache", create additional pools named as you wish and set the share to Only use the desired pool. If the share already has files on the array they will stay there because Only is ignored by mover. All files on all pools are part of user shares just like array disks are. https://wiki.unraid.net/Manual/Storage_Management#Pool_.28cache.29_Operations
