  1. Limetech, is there a plan to update the plex docker, so that those of us with plexpass can choose to install it? Currently plexpass is 2 versions ahead of the general release and by it's very nature will have new features added to it first.

It doesn't matter if not as i will use another person's docker, but i don't know how hard it is to swap docker authors and didn't want to start looking into it if you are going to update your docker sooner, rather than later.

    Thanks

  2.

there seems to be an issue with this docker and PTP. It seems as though OpenSSL and Python need updating. Is it possible to update your base image please?

Here is the support page: https://github.com/RuudBurger/CouchPotatoServer/issues/5446#issuecomment-142066958

Our baseimage updates once a month, next update this Friday, is this something that can wait that long ?

    Thanks lonix for the update

lonix i can't believe you're asking someone if couchpotato can wait for five days...  I mean, what's the world coming to?  ;D

Surely nobody can be that desperate for couchpotato that they can't wait a few days?  ::)

What an odd little response lol

  3. I am moving over from plugins to to this docker and having moved over all the files according to this guide: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201370363-Move-an-Install-to-Another-System I do not see any of my sections.

I am hoping it is because of a permissions issue, so i had a look at this guide: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200288596-Linux-Permissions-Guide

I would like to set the permissions for everything in /config (which i have mapped to /mnt/cache/dockersapps/Plex/)

Will this work and would anyone be able to give me the commands to run to make sure the permissions are set correctly?

    Thanks.

Also, i don't understand this part because surely you are not suppose to have the source server running whilst you are copying the files over?

    Disable Emptying of Trash

On your source Plex Media Server, you'll want to disable the Empty trash automatically after every scan preference for the Server.

  4. This is what i get:

  5. i've still not managed to successfully get dropbox to start without having to edit it first and then save "no changes"

If i simply restart the docker, or reboot the log always shows this:

is there a way to find out what status 1 is?

  6. i just tried this for the first time and was a little surprised not to see anything in the mate docker variable boxes. I installed crash plan first and then mate and when i try to use MS RDP tool for mac, it just says it cannot connect. i used 192.168.0.3:3389 as my details.

Is it as simple as install crash plan docker and then install mate docker and then try and connect to serverip:3389 with RDP?

  7. Is there a way dockers that have multiple versions....for example SAB, mumble server etc,who have exactly the same description....can have some sort of definition as to the differences? I presume different authors use different base images, and/or different features applied, but as an end user it's unclear which one to choose.

I have the exact same complaint.....  There should be some text or something in the overview section of the template to let users know the differences.  Or alternatively authors could use the change log / more information section for the same purposes

Not a complaint, constructive feedback!  ;D

  9. Dropbox Never wants to start on it's own for me. If i reboot or stop and then start i get the following error:

    *** Killing all processes...
    *** Running /etc/my_init.d/config.sh...
    Continous console status not requested
    *** /etc/my_init.d/config.sh failed with status 1

To get it to work, i have to edit the docker (without actually editing anything), click "save", wait for it to attempt to pull down any new data (which there isn't any) and it's starts just fine.

Therefore "Autostart" is useless for me, anything i'm missing here?

  10. I hope this is an easy question to answer (and for me to setup)  :)

Am i right in thinking that the "Webserver available"part of this plugin allows the daemon to be controlled via a gui like ProFTP Administrator?

If that is the case, then is there a guide to getting it to work? I see that there is a field (Webserver Path:). Do i simply download the files for a webgui admin and point the plugin to that?

Or is it more complicated than that?

  11. RFS and XFS do use different amounts of space - sometimes XFS uses a bit more but usually it is less.

You can use Windows properties from the Samba share and get an exact number of bytes used by the files. These should match if you copy but don't move/remove the source files.

I just finished converting 9 data drives from RFS to XFS. I save 1.5 to 2.5GB on every disk. Most disks were media files but 2 of them had hundreds of thousands of small files. I think the space savings is just due to file system differences.

Data transfer to and from the array is much more consistent now. The transfer rate is probably the same though but the consistency makes it seem a faster. I'm glad I took the time to do this as it was worth it.

A near full 3TB drive (50GB free) took about 19 hours. This was pretty consistent too. I used this rsync method:

    rsync -av --progress --remove-source-files /mnt/disk6/ /mnt/disk5/

Thanks to everyone who helped with their ideas on this conversion.

    Gary

Ok, so on the server console you simply type that command?, where in your example, you are moving the files from disk6 to disk5?

  12. I'm trying to setup the system temps plugin and i do the following:

pressing detect i get "coretemp nct6775" in gui but "yes: standard output: broken pipe in console, yes: write error"

    log shows:

Mar 22 12:05:55 Ruby kernel: nct6775: Found NCT6776D/F or compatible chip at 0x2e:0xa30

pressing load drivers i get console errors: "ERROR: Can't get value of subfeature...."

I have a Supermicro - X9SCL/X9SCM and on V5.0.6 i used sensors.conf with the following info that worked fine:

    chip "w83627ehf-*" "w83627dhg-*" "w83667hg-*" "nct6775-*" "nct6776-*"

        label temp1 "MB Temp"

    ignore fan5

        set in2_min  3.3 * 0.90
        set in2_max  3.3 * 1.10
        set in3_min  3.3 * 0.90
        set in3_max  3.3 * 1.10
        set in7_min  3.3 * 0.90
        set in7_max  3.3 * 1.10
        set in8_min  3.0 * 0.90
        set in8_max  3.3 * 1.10

I tried renaming my sensors.conf to drivers.conf and loading that from my usb drive but it doesn't work.

    Can anybody help please?

EDIT* it seems after a reboot the driver has loaded automatically and is picking up the temps..

  13. I can't seem to find a list of the various PVR managers out there, so i am manually installing each one and seeing what they support.

I currently use sickbeard for all my tv shows, but i have never been able to automate UFC events, as SB only uses thetvdb and they do not allow UFC. So then i found sickrage, which can additionally uses tvrage, which supports UFC but some of the events are missing. it's only a few that it misses and most importantly it does list out all the PPV events, so i'm 95% there.

On plex i use themoviedb.org as a scraper and they seem to have every event.....so is there a better manager out there or even one that uses themoviedb.org?

sickrage also seems to support anime and a bunch of other improvements over sickbeard, so i will start to port over my settings and use it as default. But if there is something better out there i would like to use without having to download every fork on github, just to see what features it has.

  14. Can this be added to the FAQ? Obviously i don't expect you to write all these, but i am trying to think of pertinent questions a new user would ask themselves

    How do i enable Xen?

How do i setup the network bridge?

What do i do if i don't have a cache drive?

How can i use my unRAID array storage as part of the VM?

an example is allowing plex server access to files store in /mnt/user/movies/

    Will this work? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MountWindowsSharesPermanently

How do i now invoke a safe shutdown procedure of unRAID if i have VMs running?

    http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=31700.0

After a reboot how do i start everything back up?

What happens if i use a UPS, does the power down script work in the event of a power cut?

Ok, i have chosen an OS to run in a VM, what do i need to get started? (an example)

http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=31674.msg287853#msg287853 and susing one of the 2 .cfg examples above?

Also came across this with loads of premade xen images, but a lot you have to pay for. These are the free ones: http://stacklet.com/downloads/images/public?distro=All&format=xen3&arch=All&archive=All

How do I install git and use it to install apps from source? Example is couchpotato, and then how would I be able to install from a different branch/fork.

Will there ever be webgui plugin to support the management of VMs?

    http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=31698.0

Where can I learn more about these config files?

    http://wiki.prgmr.com/mediawiki/index.php/Appendix_B:_The_Structure_of_the_Xen_Config_File

  15. Mine was a 100% fresh install with no addons and using the stock GUI.

I waited for about 5 hours before resetting as it still hadn't come right in that time.

I was aware of this quirk before buying the license and although slightly inconvenient, it doesn't worry me as hardly ever happens.

Just wanted to point out it does still happen in 5 final.

that blows my theory out then, back to my little corner :)

interestingly how much ram does your server have?

  16. Which webgui are you both using? Stock, this new webgui or simplefeatures? I've personally since removing SF have never had it hang.

What I have found though is that you have to let whatever it is that made it hang finish and then it will come back. So for example if I click on a parity check, I have to let the system initialise the parity check before I can then click on anything else. That even includes any plugins I have running... It's difficult to explain in words, so sorry about that. An interesting test (perhaps?) would be to see that if it happens again, leaving it for a couple of hours and see if it does come back or it truly has crashed. I know that's not very scientific and I'm sure there are better tests to perform, but every time it did hang my system would eventually come out of it.

Guys, his father passed away. Is it too much to show respect, stop the nagging and give him the time he needs? He'll come around and resume work.

This is an unfair statement to make, as of course this trumps any work being carried out on unRAID. At the time that information wasn't widely known (and still isn't), but is does however reinforce the importance of communication and is all one asked.

  17. personally i've given up interest on this.. besides the lack of apparent support on github (only one gatekeeper) its just too cumbersome to test/dev with this current method/setup. :(

This sadly, is the result. There are a lot of great voluntary developers out there who put in many free hours of assistance, but without the support, their incentive and enthusiasm dwindles. It happens on projects time and time again, that in the end only hurts the company and their products. Communication is what matters.
