  1. hey all im about to do a complete hardware change on my unraid server going from amd ryzen 3900x 32gb ddr4 nvidia graphics card to intel 245k ddr5 intel onboard graphics is there anything i need to do? will unraid just seamlessly transition from one hardware to the next with no intervention? also is there a way to erase the my unraid setup and start new without losing my files/unraid disks setup? i was barely able to get unraid working when i first built it and i think i have messed with settings i shouldnt have changed but i dont know what they are and i was just changing everything that seemed related to my problems at first until i got it working - it would be good to start fresh thank you
  2. Will do That would be awesome Thank you edit: i answered that post with firstthinginthemorningbeforework brain and forgot to upload diagnostics diagnostics attached now marksunraid-diagnostics-20220830-1848.zip
  3. I should have mentioned that this isn't my only copy of the files, I also have copies on my htpc and on external drives, I also mirror everything with my brother who lives nearby Also as I said it's just a fun project to play with not a necessity If I lose a drive it will be a learning process of how to rebuild the array how long it takes etc etc - fun! The Silverstone powersupply is still in fairly good condition, it's gold rated and I disassembled it and cleaned all the dust out of it - I think it's ok - I guess I could buy a brand new one eventually Thanks for the feedback
  4. hey all im super super new to unraid and i dont even know exactly why i made an unraid box, it was more of a case of "i think i can do this and it looks fun" than a necessity i do have a lot of tv shows and movies that i want to figure out what cool stuff i can do with unraid but thats pretty much it - having fun learning what it can do i literally just got it running now parity stuff took about 4 hours my setup and prices... keep in mind these are australian dollar prices and $1au=$0.70us antec case with 12 drive bays (antec 1200 i think) second hand - $20 motherboard asus a520 m-k in computer shop bargain bin - $30 16gb DDR4 ECC second hand - $50 old silverstone PSU - free ryzen 3600 left over from main pc upgrade - free 12X OLD 2TB drives i have collected over the years - free 1TB crucial mx500 for cache and stuff recently on special for - $106 4 port asm1064 pcie sata card - $28 5 port m.2>sata jmb585 card - $24 6in1 sata cables X2 $38 for both about $300au dollars or $200us dollars for 22TB (1 parity) i know ZERO about unraid, any tips for cool stuff i can do with my tv shows and movies (sorting them / sharing them throughout the house / whatever) would be helpful... where should i start looking at what to do?
