  1. thanks for all the help ... I followed the instructions on your link provided ... I'ts rebuilding the drive (estimated 17 hours) ... I have suspicion this will solve the problem ... I really appreciate the help from everybody ...
  2. I've now updated to the most current version (6.1.9) ... now one of my drives has an orange indicator (Device is disabled, contents emulated) ... is there is procedure to fix this? also see attached diagnostics tower-diagnostics-20160329-2051.zip

  5. I emailed a friend who said this ... "I would have expected a "Parity Check" button to be there (in the main tab). If you have no posted on the unRAID forums already about this I would start there and see if anyone can chime in on why the Dashboard is showing the "Parity Status: Data Invalid" message but the "Main" tab does not seem to have the parity check/build button."
  6. Sorry about my lack of understanding ... but I'm using 6.0-beta14b ... Parity Status says "Data is invalid" ... but I can't figure out how to initiate a rebuild the parity (I had a drive corruption and had to perform an xfs_repair -L) ... I'm used to seeing a rebuild parity button or something

I copied pasted from a previous reference the following answers to questions in the reiserfsck --rebuild-sb ... are these still correct in newer versions of unraid (I'm using 5.0.4 (once again I'm sorry I posted this entire thread in the wrong location)) -- copy paste --- It told me to run with the “--rebuild-sb option” if I was sure. If ever you have to run with this option, it asks you a bunch of questions. Here are the correct responses (many thanks to Tom for helping me through these): 1. The version of reiserfs is 3.6.x. This is for unRAID 4.2.1. (This is NOT the default, so be careful) 2. Block size is 4096 (default) 3. “No journal device was specified. (If journal is not available, re-run with --no-journal-available option specified)” Is journal default?” (Answer Y) 4. “Do you use resizer?” (Answer N) 5. It tells you that a new uuid has been generated. 6. “rebuild-sb: You either have a corrupted journal or have just changed the start of the partition with some partition table editor. If you are sure that the start of the partition is ok, rebuild the journal header. Do you want to rebuild the journal header?” Answer Y 7.   10. I'm so sorry, I realize I posted this in an inproper location. ... I also understand any hesitancy in offering help with this. I'm trying to find documentation on how to answer the proper questions once I administer this command? any help?

I followed procedure from a different forum post to: A) set the drive as "unassigned" B) bring the raid up in maintenance mode C) perform reiserfsck --check on the drive it responded with: reiserfs_open: the reiserfs superblock cannot be found on /dev/md8. Failed to open the filesystem. If the partition table has not been changed, and the partition is valid and it really contains a reiserfs partition, then superblock is currupted and you need to run this utility with --rebuild-sb. I'm wanting to super careful at this point, ... should I go ahead and perform this procedure?

Sample1: in process of deleting a folder that contains thousands of folders/files, I click to highlight and then hit delete ... it then will popup a windows dialogue with a waiting animation (implying it is preparing the delete process) ... it will stay this way for a long time (a couple hours one time when I went to delete a folder that contained 10gig of file/folders) ... after the few hours it finally refreshed to the "Are you sure you want to delete?" dialogue box ... of which I clicked yes ... and then it took a few hours to delete. Sample2: generall copying from and too the server is noticably slower ... it took like 5 or so minutes to copy 550mb ...   18. My unRaid server is running slow, I think its got to be one of the disks ... but I dont know how to find out which disk could be the problem ... what do I need to do?
