Hello,
I have been running my server for 10 years now and back then I used a 1 GB USb stick. It was always sufficient, but now I wanted to do an update and it tells me I have too little space. Over the years a lot has accumulated there. But I'm not sure what I can and can't delete. The following folders are on my flash drive
config
custom
EFI
logs but empty
previous
syslinux
unmenuand a lot of files in the root, the largest of which are bzfirmware and bzroot.
Could I empty previous as this is the largest folder?

i use the official emby docker. my appdata directory is on my cache disk. All my directories there have nobody/users permission only the EmbyServer folder has daemon/daemon permission can I just rewrite the permission or does that have no effect?

Hello,
I still have 2 free pcie 3.0 x1 slots on my mainboard and I have a 9207-8i controller here. could I install it there to install 4 more hard drives? Or should you just buy an x1 controller with 4 sata3 slots? I still have the 9207 lying around and before I buy something new I would of course like to use it. Would the performance be sufficient for normal operation?

it happens with all files. for series, the load is back to 0% more quickly than for films that are available as avc remux. my films are usually all avc remux

Here are 2 more log files when I play a film with another android box and the native emby client. The film starts and runs flawlessly so far. But if I want to jump chapters or jump forward a few minutes, the film freezes for 1-2 minutes before continuing and the CPU is quite busy. I also only have an i5 10400 with the integrated gpu intel uhd 630. Maybe you can improve something based on the logs. Within emby I have assigned transcoding to the gpu, do I have to assign something else to docker in the config?

Hello, thank you for your detailed answer. I use an nvidia shield as a client, which should be able to handle all formats that I use. I also see direct play being used on the dashboard. So it can't actually be due to transcoding due to audio or video format. What I could imagine would be the transcoding due to high bitrate. The server is remote. What surprises me, however, is that I have a wireguard vpn server running on the unraid server. If I connect the nvidia shield to the server via wireguard beforehand and then say in emby under kodi it should use native paths, then everything works perfectly. Is it possible that emby behaves differently under http than when I access it via smb?

Hello, I have a question about the emby docker and I hope that someone here can help me. Emby is running fine so far. The only thing I don't quite understand is when I start a movie, whether with the native Emby client or with the emby addon under kodi, I see the CPU load on my unraid server (latest version of the unraid, i510400 and 32 GB RAM). rises to about 80%. This lasts for about 3-4 minutes and then the cpu load drops to 2%. Also, while the CPU load is high, I cannot skip or fast-forward chapters in the movie. If the CPU load is low, I can skip chapters, but then I see that the load also increases again. Can you configure something there?

Hello,
I have a new motherboard with an Intel 10400. Unraid is the latest version. When I boot unraid, I see on the dashboard that the cpu is clocked at 2.9 GHz. How do I get full clock from the cpu? I brought one of the cores to 100% with this command cat /dev/urandom > /dev/null, but the clock frequency remains at 2900. Do I have to do this for all cores so that the turbo starts? And if so, how can I do this for all cores? The only thing I found in the bios is: Boot Performance Mode, I switched it from auto to Turbo Performacne and then the Bios shows me 4000 MHz instead of 2900, but in unraid it still stays at 2900? Does anyone have an idea?

I had to replace my cache disk due to a disk error. I followed these instructions exactly. https://wiki.unraid.net/Replace_A_Cache_Drive Everything worked fine, but now all my docker containers are gone. how can i restore all of my dockers now?
i use unraid 6.9

what would the best backup strategy look like for the next hard drive to switch to XFS? If I remember correctly, did unraid always use the old filesystem when changing the hard drive? So when I switched from a 4 GB to an 8 GB, it was so far that I expanded the 4 GB, installed the 8GB and assigned it to the hard disk slot, after which unraid restored the data and everything was running.
What should I do here? After restoring, do I have to back up all data manually, then reformat the new hard drive with XFS and then manually copy the data back up? -
Thanks for the help to everyone. it really took 2-3 hours until all disks were mounted. Then I copied down all the data of the 8tb and then formatted it in xfs. So far everything is running smoothly again. I hope it stays like this.

may not belong here but now something is completely broken. I tried to move my data from the new hard disk (disk11) to an older disk (disk9) where there was still space. i did it in the console with the mv command. That worked well with the first files. Then at some point the mv command got stuck as if nothing ever happened. Since the whole server stopped responding, not even to a reboot command, I switched the server off and on again. Then the server started up again, but the old hard drive (disk9) where the files were copied to can no longer be mounted. The server is stuck when mounting this hard drive. Is there anything that i could do ?

ok thanks, i always had the assumption that all disks must have the same filesystem. But I have now read that a mixed operation is possible, but you can still leave the old disks in reiserfs. Will now empty this disk and format it again with xfs, let's see if it gets better.

You have already answered me in the thread, but unfortunately it was not apparent from it that there is a problem with the file system.
So what would be the best course of action now? I did a reiserfs check yesterday that told me to do a new check with the --rebuild-tree option. I did that, he also found and corrected a mistake.
Now I feel a little insecure with this disc but as I said the smartcheck says that everything is ok. But i does not want to buy a new disc senseless, it also costs 180 euros.Thanks

does any of you have the combination of lsi 9240-8i with 8TB HDD? As described in another thread, I had problems that a new hard drive always showed errors. Yesterday I noticed that the disk is in read only mode. Maybe the disc is really broken, but the smartcheck says everything is ok. So my question is whether the error may come from the controller? Is the first 8 TB hard drive I have on the controller.

Hi, I have a problem with a new disc after almost 4 weeks I always get warnings when I log on to unraid that something is wrong with the disc. These are the messages under Attributes
187 Reported uncorrect 0x0032 098 098 000 Old age Always Never 2
197 Current pending sector 0x0012 100 100 000 Old age Always Never 8
198 Offline uncorrectable 0x0010 100 100 000 Old age Offline Never 8
A smart extended self test gives me completed without error.
Can I do something here? Or prefer to exchange? I still have a guarantee but without an error message the dealer won't take it back?

Do get more detailed stats about your containers, you can install something like "cadvisor" (available from Community Apps).
Hi, i´m using default container settings. The only folder i mapped is the output directory to a part of the cache disk.
in the last week it runs ok.

I am absolutely not a Linux expert and I will watch it. The night before last all my Docker containers crashed and I was only able to restart them after a reboot. If jdownloader uses the free RAM that would not be tragic, but what about chache_dirs, which always uses a lot of RAM. I would like to be able to tell the individual dockers how much RAM they can use and then only act in this area

Hi there,
I have installed the jdownloader and have the problem that as soon as I download something with it, my RAM is full within 5 minutes. I have 12 GB RAM in my server and before I start the download there are almost 10 GB free and after 5 minutes everything is full. I set the extra parameter --memory = 2G for the docker, but it doesn't seem to do anythingAfter the download, the memory remains full and will not be released again.
Does anyone have a tip

thanks for the quick reply, I will first try to clean up the folders. There is another folder called packages there are many .txz files like well openvpn pycrypto python tcl and so on. i think these are all old files too ?
