  1. no problem with those commands. i can resolve and connect with the site, it just can't retrieve the file See below result, from copy/paste the command above --2012-02-09 13:17:54-- http://unraid-unmenu.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/unmenu_install Resolving unraid-unmenu.googlecode.com... 74.125.47.82 Connecting to unraid-unmenu.googlecode.com|74.125.47.82|:80... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 403 Forbidden 2012-02-09 13:17:54 ERROR 403: Forbidden.
  2. I'm getting a 403 - forbidden error from the wget command to the unmenu repository. Is there a workaround for this?
  3. nope. work machine is in my company office, others are at home. desktop is static IP, laptop is DHCP and the scope doesn't overlap by a longshot. It's been doing it for months. gotten used to it, just wondering what may be causing it since it's on multiple machines, different locations. as a side note, THANKS FOR ALL YOUR EXPERTISE JOE!
  4. then it's on multiple machines Work, home desktop, home laptop. all of them
  5. Not a major thing, but EVERY TIME, I have to login twice. The first time it tells me my credentials are invalid, then the second time the forum takes my credentials (same credentials, no typos). Any hints? I dont' have the password saved or anything, I'm typing it each time. Thanks!
  6. GREAT movie! I need to see about getting that for my collection. For those are love classic mystery novels/movies such as Agatha Christie, and the Thin Man ... check out Neil Simon's Murder by Death! A great comic tribute to these great old characters (Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Charlie Chan, Sam Spade, Nick Charles) for fans of Hitchcock, check out another great comic tribute, Mel Brooks' High Anxiety
  7. I'm going to have to try mine again. When I tried it before, same port, same cable, etc, it wouldn't sync-up. Got a "sync beat not detected" or something similar in the log so I switched to plain old PCI Intel Pro. Thanks for the post about it working.
  8. is it just me, or does the "show unread posts since last visit" not work? Even though there are many new posts, if I click this I MAY get 1 or 2, usually none.
  9. ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM!!! love it! ;D ;D ;D
  10. I was speaking more on the diskshare configuration pages and your "include/exclude" settings there. Yes, unRAID will pickup the top-level directories and make them user shares. sorry for not being clear.
  11. Joe L., One reason for making the assignments to the same slots is user shares, if they are defined. They are based on the logical drive assignments, so those could be screwed up I would think if you don't match the assignments on the device screen. But like you said, Parity is priority!
  12. do a screen shot of your devices webpage (landscape works best to me). This will give you drive number assignments and show you the serial numbers. Shut down the array and re-arrange the drives like you want. turn it back on. it will come up with errors (most likely unassigned). DO NOT START THE ARRAY!! Go to the devices screen and assign, by serial number, the drives to the original drive numbers. Then you can start the array and you'll be fine. Physical location does not matter as long as they are logically assigned to the same drives numbers within unRAID.
  13. hawihoney, Seagate Sata drives still have jumpers for 150 and 300, which come jumpered for 150 by default for some reason. Just an FYI
  14. As long as the top level directories match, yes, your user shares will grow. Just be sure to put the drives in the INCLUDE section of the web interface as you add them as well. I did this when I added another drive for the share Movies, manually adding the "movies" directory to the new drive and it's worked great. If I've completely lead him astray, please correct me but I'm sure this is what I've done as I've added drives, adding the directories to the drive that I wanted to be there and also added that new drive to the "user shares" section of the web interface. Good luck and CONGRATS on the new baby coming along!
  15. I agree with you RockDawg. that wasn't much of an answer. All my systems run XP (in various version ... MCE, PRO, HOME) and all my shares always show up. OK, even though nothing's changed, a couple of questions/suggestions: 1) how often to you reboot your various systems? (laptop I'm assuming daily, but others may be longer). Does rebooting get your shares back? 2) Verify on ALL machines that the workgroup is exactly the same (even down to case though I don't believe it really is case sensitive) 3) Any consistency on your XP machines as to when they started disappearing? Oh well, it's a start ... off to lunch now
