  1. Hi. I am relatively new to Unraid. I have a "Vanity" Domain name that I would like to point permently to my Home based Unraid server so that it can be accessed from the Internet when I am away from home. My ISP (Virgin Media) supplies "Hub" to access my broadband but it is not possible to setup a "Static" WAN to the hub. It changes with time and on re-boot. I have been looking to find a suitable way to work with Unraid and my cloudflare account to "poll" my WAN address and deal with any changes. I did purchase a separate router (TP-Link Archer Wi FI) but try as I might while I could setup my wireless and wired home network I was unable to reach the Internet after setting the Virgin Hub to Modem mode. I followed through a number od utube self help videos but with no luck. I know its possible to do what I want with the right software. I am hoping your offering will do the trick but I cannot find any step by step for a beginner in Linux etc.
  2. So for a clear picture of my needs and understanding. In the past I have run all flavours of Windows Home Server until it became unsupported. My main aims in setting up a Unraid server are:- Storage of recovery backup data mostly consisting of:- A. My Audiobook collection B. My Calibre Ebook and Documents Collection C. My Music Collection D. Running a hobbists Web Server hosting several Wordpress Sites for development (available on the internet remotely etc) C. Learning about using other OS`s by installing in VM`s E. Curiosity perhaps in installing, exploring and using other applications. I have set up my system with 2 drives in the Array (Parity + 1), a SSD chip as a cache and the remainder 14 drives in a single pool. I have watched a number of Unraid instructional videos on utube, mostly the excellent Spaceinvader One productions and gained a huge insite into the workings of Unraid, however, I have become confused as to whether I should be using most of my drives in the array or in a single pool or multiply pools given my requirements to backup a large amount of data which is scattered amongst a number of drives both internal and external across 3 networked Windows 10 & 11 machines. I seek advice and direction as to what my best/suitable data storage configuration should be. I have already backed up some data using windows based FreeFileSync but am happy to re-start my setup if needed.
  3. Thanks itimpi. Mover now running. Schedulers set up for future runs. Guess I`ll get a cup of tea now. Thanks for your help.
  4. I have changed the settings in the "shares" window(s) as JorgeB suggests (2nd tower-diagnostics zip should show that). A little more info please " about existing data on disk1 can be moved there by executing the mover. " How do I execute?. Thanks
  5. I have changed the share setting "Primary Storage" to "tankone" (the name of my single pool. tower-diagnostics-20230628-1739.zip
  6. "Some help and advice here please as its clear the data is not currently being written to the pool? That will depend on the cache setting for the share(s), click on the share and depending on which Unraid release you are running select cache=yes or the pool as primary storage." Will the system move the data to the pool after the change?
  7. I am new to Unraid but not computers of Windows. I am currently running Version 6.12.1 with a 6TB Parity Drive and a second 4TH Parity Drive plus a 2TB nvem chip and 1 data pool of 14 drives, in a range of 2TB, 4TB & 6TB drives. I have begun to move data over the network from my Windows machines and i am now getting the following error message "Unraid Disk 1 disk utilization, Disk 1 is low on space (96%)". My Parity Drive is A 6TB drive and shows 0 reads but growing writes with no errors and no entry for the File System or the size. The second drive ( Disk 1) in the parity section shows reads, writes, FS xfs, size and used (currently 3.87TB). This section reads array of 2 devices, reads, writes, no errors, blank FS, size 4TB, used and available. What`s wrong here, I thought that the data would be stored on the pool of drives and the parity drives held pointers to copies of the data within the pool or pools. The current single pool I have contains drives that the system has names Tankone, Tanktwo etc. Some help and advice here please as its clear the data is not currently being written to the pool?
