Hi, recently my Unraid server crashed and I decided to switch to another NAS server solution ; now i need to read my old data from HDD data unraid. I encounter many difficulties because i'm not a good user of Linux world. First idea, access the Reiserfs partition from Windows 7, i tried more solutions - open source- but the softwares don't see my Reiserfs's partition. So, do you know of software and paying serious to read my Reiserfs partition ? I installed an Ubuntu distribution and i can read the partition, but because i'm not a good user of Linux i prefere to use Windows 7 ; i need also a software to recover Reiserfs partition. Thanks

Hi all, my current motherboard have a problem, unRAID don't work, the PC reboot http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=14503.0 so i decided to change my motherboard. I chose Asus P5Q is a good choice, is there any interest in taking a motherboard more evolved like Asus P5Q Premium or Deluxe ? Thanks for help

Memtest is ok, i unplugged a SATA card, all hard drive are unplugged, but same problem. I try to change the USB key emplacement, but same problem. Really strange.

Ok, i just run a memtest, result in fews hours. But if you read my message, the problem always happens at the same time, so i do not think too much memory problem. But it's a first step.

Well, the PC boot on usb drive, unRAID image is downloaded, after there is a set of information that appears (HDD detection, IRQ ...), but in this process at a time, the PC reboot. I also test with another USB key with free unRAID version, it's the same problem. Very strange. Ok apparently my computer have a problem, but how can i detect it ? i guess there is no log file.

Hi all, i went on holildays 15 days, to this days my unRAID server was working perfectly. Yesterday i wanted to restart the server and it does not work. The problem is that at the end of the boot process, the PC reboot. I plugged a HDD with Windows 7, no problem. I unplugged all the drives and the problem is the same. I'm using version 4.7 stable. How can i do that ? Thanks for help.

Hi, finally i could recover my data on disk2 with the software UFS Explorer, the disk1 is crashed, UFS Explorer can not read the files system. If i restart my unRAID server since the beginning - i start with just two disks : one for the parity, the other for the data - can i recover disk1 from the parity disk ? if yes how can i proceed ? And after, i reintegrate the others disks, and i launch a parity check. Possible ? Thanks

Hi Rob, thanks for your answer. Two days ago i had disk3 no detected, i supposed it was broken, so i bought 2 disks 1To for replace this disk and replace other disk whose size was small. So i replaced this disks and the result is before your eyes : a disaster. I started the array, stopped it, press the button Restore, but never formatted. Today, my hope is not lost disk1, disk2 and disk4. If possible. I tried to read the disc 2 on my PC with drivers to handle the format Reiserfs but my PC crash when i browse folders, i'm under Vista Pro. If possible i would like to do this method for disk1, disk2 and disk4 for save my datas. Cheers

Hi all, i'm very interesting by this topic because i can't use my HDD media player connected to my unRAID server with SAMBA protocol. Very often (90% of time), the movie start and after about 5 minutes, the movie freeze and if i copy it on my HDD media player it's good, but sometimes i can watch the movie. It's strange. So i would like to test the NFS protocol, is it possible actually with the last version of unRAID server ? Cheers.

Like takecontrol, i use mainly my unraid server to read video content (DVD and avi files) to my tvix media player and sometimes if i use Samba it stutters and stops playing. So if i have problem i must have to copy the video file(s) to my tvix media, not really practical. And in the setup of my tvix media i can choose NFS protocol, so...
