  1. Many thanks for your kind reply! Jacobbe73
  2. Hello to everybody, in my system, only during summer season, the Unraid interface send me a notification about this message: Warning [SERVER-NAS] - Parity disk is hot (46 C) In my hardware configuration I've used only SSD (number 6 Samsung EVO 870 4Tbyte each) and I would like to know if this message is a sort of default warning message or I have to decrease the temperature inside the case anyway. I informed about the right functionality range of temperature of these SSD and on Samsung official web site is written 0-70°C. To be honest, 70°C seem to much.... but is' written! Should I worry of that or this temperature it's not a problem with this kind of SSD and the default warning set points are inappropriate? If yes how can I change these set-points? Many thanks in advance! Jacobbe73
  3. First of all many thanks to everybody for your quickly reply! I know my request could be a little strange.... I installed Unraid server in my home and I am very happy for this. I have some internal devices that are connected to my Unraid server through internal lan (192.168...) and all works well. The Unraid server and all my internal devices are using internet trought my domestic router and in internet network they use public (and dinamic) Ip address. What I need to di is connect one external device (coming from internet) to my Unraid server (using VPN connection and port forwarding rules) to exit again in internet using my public IP adress. To do this, I also need to avoid that this external device can browse in my internal network and see my share and device connected.
  4. Hello to all, as I wrote, I need to create a VPN server service to connect clients to my unraid server only to use my internet connection but not my internal lan. I tried to find in "Apps" section, a sort of OpenVPN Server to install in a dedicated docker but what I understood this app was removed. Everybody are using Wireguard that is included in the Unraid OS. Can I use Wireguard also for my purpose? In detail I need to leave my clients to connect to my server only to use my internet connection just to give them possibility to navigate in internet using my public IP address and nothing else (not possible to browse in my internal network). Hope my description is quite clear, in any case any your suggestions are more than welcome! Many thanks in advance! Jacobbe73
  5. Many thanks JorgeB for your quickly reply! I installed as suggested the UD Plugin and I mounted the two disks with my data. They are EXT4 and are totally compatible. Just my last question..... There is a sort of procedure to move the data from these two disks to the array directly or I have to enable the two smb share and move from the tow disk to the array using my laptop? In this way the timing will be more long..... Thanks again! Jacobbe73
  6. Hello to all, I finally installed Unraid O.S. on my new "domestic server" and I decided to use not all my available disks to create the array. The reason is to avoid lost my data during building the array. In detail this is my situation: I have totally 6 ssd (Samsung Evo 870 4TByte each) but 4 empty and 2 full of files. I created the array using 1 Parity disk and 3 empty disk as storage devices. What I'm thinking to do is, when array will be created, connect my last two disks (with files) and move all files in the array. What is the right way to do this? Hope my explanations is understandable! Many thanks in advance, kindest regards! Jacobbe73
  7. Hello to all, I finished my new NAS and I convinced to install as OS unraid! Here below my hardware in detail: - mainboard AsRock J4125B - 8Gbyte of DDR4 - sas/sata controller LSI SAS 9207-8i - storage devices n° 6 Samsung Evo 870 (4Tbyte each) + 1 Samsung Evo 870 (256Gbyte spare) - UPS Eaton Ellipse Eco 650 USB Din What I think to do is to use 1 Parity disk and 5 as storage disk (all 4Tbyte each). First of all, I have two doubt about the configuration: 1) I understood that cache disk is normally used to increase reading velocity when you use mechanical hard drives, but I'm thinking to avoid it because all my storage disks are SSD. So, can I create my NAS without any cache disk? 2) Where the Unraid OS will be installed finically? Can I use my last SSD (Samsung EVO 870 256Gbyte) for the OS? I would like to avoid to use USB pendrive for OS.... Many thanks in advance for any reply! Jacobbe73
Saluti e grazie! Jacobbe73
