  1. Hi All I have a plan to have a backup unraid box in my garage. I want to remotly power it on with a smart plug (my MB doesn't have WOL and in my experience that never works!). I have set the state on power restore to Always in the BIOS. This only seems to work if power was lost when the server was on. In otherwords if I power off the server when it's running then it will re-boot when power is restored. If I shutdown the server then power off the smart plug it doesn't come back on again. Is this expected behavior? Seems odd and is very frustrating... My motherboard is one of these: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H81M-DS2V-rev-10#ov
  2. So the answer to my question is: "yes, it's user error"! Ok obviously this was stupid of me. I never saw the text box. It was incredibly faint on my screen, I only read "remove partition 1" and I assumed that as the button was not disabled it was ready to do its thing! Making the button disabled and highlighting the text box if the button is clicked would make this more idiot proof. Thanks for pointing out my stupidity! I now have an issue with the whole crashing and needing to be power cycled when I start a preclear with no pre check. I suspect I might have done hardware issues...
  3. Hi Guys Very new to unraid and trying to get my discs precleared before adding them to my array. (I aplogise, I have not read all 19 pages of this thread). I have managed to install the plugin and I have discovered the destructive mode setting that I have enabled. I am not able to delete the partitions on my discs though. I click the red x on either the disc or the partition, I then click the clean button and nothing happens. The dialog stays there and nothing changes... I have tried this on 3 identical discs and 1 different disc and I get the same behavior. Is this user error or something else? I am on unraid 6.12.3 Thanks
  4. Ok, managed to get manual install working. First few times I tried the manual install guide link took me to unhelpful places in the docs but eventually managed to find it.
  5. Hi I am excited to try unraid initially on some hardware I have lying around but if it goes well I plan to build a new PC and migrate from my synology box. As the title says I got stuck straight away with the USB creator. After waiting quite a while to download at only 2 MB/s (I am on 400+ connection) it is stuck at "Extracting Files". I have waited a long time with minimal processor activity on a powerful pc and nothing happens. There does not seem to be any help out there about this. I found many videos telling me how to fix the syncing filesystem issue - which I tried but they did not help (the fact that there are so many videos out there worries me slightly that such a widespread issue wasn't fixed). I tried this on 2 different windows machine with the same result. what do I do from here?
