  1. For Dynamix: Maybe I'm not making a fair assumption? I'll admit that. I'm using it right now to perform a long-running move operation and have hit a few snags: 1. unassigned device capacity not updating during move operation 2. Inconsistent file transfer metrics, or maybe the metrics mean something else? For example, percentage complete jumps from 20-99% and everywhere in between. 3. Checking the move operation itself, from the main tab, will inconsistently show/not show transfer progress details when I expand the operation I think I may opt to simply use "mv" from terminal to move files going forward. That is, unless performing file organization operations from a client does not require the files to move across the network back/forth from the client to server.
  2. (again, I'm new to UnRaid but couldn't find much detail in the docs for this topic) If I have data in an array, what is the best practice means of moving files around within the array? For example: 1. Array A has 4 disks, from that there are multiple shares. 2. I want to move files from share 1 to share 2 3. If I do this via a remote client connection, will I be transferring files over the network to perform the move operation via the client? OR 4. Does UnRaid know to move the files to the desired location, without relying on the client and consuming the network? I am currently using Dynamix file manager but it seems to have a lot of issues (based on the support thread) and I worry it may corrupt my files if I try to perform the move entirely within the GUI.
  3. I just started using this plugin and don't see any updates to size/space available/capacity on a source drive (unassigned data disk transferring data into a share). Are live transfer statistics available anywhere? I only see the details shown pinned to the bottom of the GUI.
  4. I'm using "Dynamix" and "Unassigned Devices" to move files locally off of an existing drive with data, to a destination share. However, the source capacity details are not updating. Is this expected behavior? Does the array need to be stopped to see the updated values of unassigned devices?
  5. Where can I find extended documentation on the "zfs-encrypted" feature for disks?
  6. Wow - it's so much faster transferring files locally instead of over the network. Dynamix is great, btw. Thanks for the tip and assistance!
  7. Okay, I think I figured it out (somehow) I stopped the array and rebooted the server, now I have the "install" options available for "unassigned devices"
  8. Yes, but how do I "install" it? There's no option available? Only "Pending" Also - thanks so much for the quick replies.
  9. @trurl - I have community apps installed, and when I search for "Unassigned Devices" this is what I see:
  10. Hello! I am brand-spankin' new to unraid and looking to expedite the file transfer process from source disks into Unraid shares. I saw elsewhere on the forum that a plugin "Unassigned Devices" + a KDE file manager would allow me to plugin install an existing source disk (with data) and perform a file transfer, within Unraid OS, to a destination share. I'm looking to do this to use SATA > SATA transfer over mobo instead of over network (limited to 1gbs) (assuming this is possible) I'm not sure how to install plugins? I tried installing "Unassigned devices" using the "https://github.com/dlandon/unassigned.devices/blob/master/unassigned.devices.plg" file in the "plugins" tab, but I'm getting an error: I also enabled the "apps" tab, and I see it as available there, but don't see an option to "install" from the apps tab. Any help much appreciated!
