Hi Guys, I'm new to this topic and it would be great to have some feedback for the hardware.
What is your budget?
1000-1500€ for the Build of the Homeserver with SSD and HDD
How many drives do you want your server to be able to support and how much capacity do you need?
For the start I need ~ 20 TB. So 2 HDDs with Raid 1?
Is expandability important to you? If so, what's your long term goal?
I will probally use Fractal Design Node 804, Acrylfenster (FD-CA-NODE-804-BL-W) as my Case.
Are you interested in running additional apps?
Plex (max. 2-3 Streams in 4K 60hz)
Nextcloud
AdGuard
paperless ngx
bitwarden
And then see what Unraid does have in the App Store
Do you want to run green/low power drives or faster 7200 rpm drives? If you don't have a specific need for 7200 rpm drives, then choose green drives.
Not sure what is meant with green drives
I thougth about 2 Toshiba Enterprise Capacity MG08ACA 16TB
What do you plan to run for hard drives?
2 Toshiba Enterprise Capacity MG08ACA 16TB
And not sure if I should use a SSD Chace?
Do you have any spare parts laying around that you would like to apply towards your build? This includes drives.
No
Else I think about 32 GB Ram and read it should be an Intel with Quick Sync for Plex?
What I prefer is low watt usage.
This setup should be good for the next 10 Years
Maybe also order a new usb drive is there any recommendation ?
