Hello deBabba, I tested Unraid with a WD My Passwort Ultra USB-Hdd. I thing the WD Hdds are a peace of s**t. Now running with Seagate and spin down works as expected. My Cash drive does not spin down. Might be influenced on the dockers running on the M2. Checking this is a task for future-me. For now, this setup (USB HDD, no parity, non-ecc ram) is what covers my current requirements. And a license was worth the money. (And yes, setup is not recommended and not supported…)

Thanks for your reply. I have no additional drive for testing a setup - so I ended up with on USB Drive and one M.2 drive. Is this a part of false configuration? I though I moved all relevant parts to the cache. Will this also be a problem if there is an array with parity? If I buy additional drives? Thank you

Hello, I'm new to Unraid and testing if it fit my needs. I'm want a solution consuming low energy by using a thin client and usb-drives. (And I know this is not recommended and RAM better have ECC for server solutions...) Currently one M.2 as cache installed and one USB-Drive attached. Running 2 docker container. Spin down of the USD-Drive seems not working. Ether the spin down delay nor 'click' spin down in main menue set the drive spind down. The M.2 drive does message spin down for a short time - until SMART wakes it up. Did I missed some configuration? Are there still fiels on the Array that should be part ov the cache? Or is this depending on the USB-Drive and can't be triggered by Unraid? Thanks a lot neuland-diagnostics-20231223-1253.zip
