I am currently running Plex in TrueNAS. Works fine, for the most part, but I need to upgrade the hardware. So I am thinking about moving Plex to a dedicated server running UnRAID and Plex.
A few questions:
1) Running Plex in a jail is a bit of a PITA. I would like to be able to update whenever I want instead of having to wait for the plugin developer to update the plugin. I assume by running it in Docker, I wont have any issues updating the media server as Plex rolls them out.
2) If I run Plex in a Docker on UnRAID, will it use GPU pass-through and allow Plex to use the GPU for transcoding or is Intel QuickSync my only option?
3) I gave about 40TB of video and music in FreeNAS and for the time being I would like to keep it there. It's accessible via SMB and NFS. I searched the UnRAID forum for NFS and there were zero hits. Does that mean I cannot mount an NFS share from UnRAID? Is SMB the only option?
Thanks,
