  1. Update: One of my friends was able to set video playback to 720p and has no more buffering. Im not sure if this points to a hardware limitation on his end or on mine. Its a bummer he has to manually downgrade it rather than plex do this automatically.
  2. Hello, I have read tons of threads and tried all of the things. Im still quite confused why my 3070 is not working harder and causing videos to buffer. When my friends play certain movies they were getting constant buffering. When I play these movies from home they play flawlessly. After reading through the forums I made some tweaks and my friends said the buffering was reduced significantly but still there. I believe I have all the necessary settings correct but I must be missing something. I would expect a 3070 to be able to handle plenty of workload for this. I have attached a couple screenshots for review. Please let me know if anyone has some advice. Thank you.
  3. Another question... can I use one PC to run OpnSense AND (2) 8TB drives in a raid one that is used as a backup with rsync? Or does OpnSense need to be ran on a standalone PC?
  4. Rsync looks like what I will be going with. Borgmatic was too intimidating for my skill level as im not a native linux user. That fellow on YT spaceinvader seems to have a video for almost every scenario doesn’t he? Lol
  5. I will have 2 copies of the data (2 servers) and one of those servers will be offsite. Im not sure if thats a 3-2-1 or just a 2-1 but i am comfortable with that amount of redundancy. I will go have a look at rsync and borgmatic now. Thank you for the advice.
  6. I have less than 10TB of data to backup. I was thinking of running (2) 10TB HDDs in a raid one at a seperate location. Would rsync work from a 2nd location or would it need to be connected to the main server?
  7. Im new to unraid but starting to get familiar with the OS. Id like to use an old spare PC to setup as a backup device. Question is: would it make any sense to purchase a second unraid license and create this PC as a 2nd server that my main server backs up to? Or is there different software/methods that are more practical for this? Should I just use a raid config in the backup PC and sync the data to the backup server using something like syncthing? I would appreciate some advice from the folks that have experience backing up their servers on the best/easiest way to achieve this. Thanks in advance.

    ECC Memory Test

Looks like in order to do a proper injection test I will need Passmark's ECC Tester for $260 or MemTest86 Pro edition for $52. MemTest Pro can't even guarantee the software will work due to Ryzen not being very clear publicly what hardware is supported/capable or not. `In general, ECC injection is not a feature that is normally accessible by end-users. Even if the chipset supports the ECC injection feature, details are often sparse and not described in publicly available datasheets. Consult the datasheet for your CPU/memory controller chipset to determine whether the ECC injection feature is available and fully specified.`

    ECC Memory Test

Thank you. Can I run the ECC test through unraid or do I need to run it through a win10 vm? I ran the initial memtest when I installed unraid and everything passed but afaik it didn't perform any ecc tests.

    ECC Memory Test

I'm new here. Just installed UNRAID. Never setup a server before and the youtubes talked me into using unraid. So far I like it even though I know nothing about linux or terminal commands. Youtube has helped me get some containers, shares, etc. I recently upgraded my RAM to 64gb of unbuffered ECC. I am running the server on a x470 with a Ryzen 7 2700x. I have read conflicting stories on the web about whether my hardware accepts ECC RAM. Everything seems to be detected and working properly however i'd like to test that the ECC is actually working somehow. Does anybody have any direction how to do this in unraid? Thanks
  11. Hello, Brand new to UNRAID. I was just wondering if the bitcoin node container also has a wallet address (wallet.dat) or if it is only running a node with wallet disabled? If there is a wallet i'd like some help locating the .dat file so I can back it up somewhere. Thanks
