  1. what does snapshots mean? building parity at set intervals like snapraid?
  2. yes, windows 8. it was driving me nuts, knowing the data is there, but not always finding it where it's supposed to be. it appeared in the disk shares, but not the user shares or the other way around. or in the cache folder and nowhere else. so, thanks again!
  3. sorry, i can't help you, but your tip with the timeservers solved my problem! thanks a bunch to you and tom!
  4. if you are using windows, you should read this thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=24298.0 after moving the file, create a empty notepad file in the folder. somtimes it updates the folder instantly, sometimes i have to exit an re-enter the folder to see the updated content.
  5. the same thing happens in windows 8, only thing that helps is rebooting either machine (pc or server) or creating a file in the share. before using unRAID i was using a qnap nas (with raid5) where i haven't had this problem. on technet are some threads with hundreds of postings and some workarounds, but nothing seems to fix the problem. €: setting the timeserver in windows to pool.ntp.org solved my problem, server and client were a few seconds out of sync!
