Shared drives copy speeds from windows flat lining.
I have a waft of shared drives that I occasionally need to copy something from my windows drive to a networked drive on my unraid server. Ussually it starts out great!! 100 MB/s.. Then it crashes and does this... One is copyiing a file from an unassigned drives file to a folder inside the origin folder: Drive to Drive, the other is from windows to an unassigned Drive: win to drive. Pausing one will get my speeds higher, but only temporarily. Back to 80-100 for about a min, then down to 4-5 and flatlines. Error Log just nets Jun 19 21:19:50 NJ-Server kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* Unexpected DP dual mode adaptor ID 7f Anyone have any thoughts?

Plex home screen speed.
So my server is up and relatively stable.... BUT my plex home screen can take forever to open. If i navigate to the library it opens at a normal speed, but the home screen and the recommended screens take an inordinate amount of time... Searching I saw people advise to make sure your docker and appdata is on the cache drive. Is that right? How do I do that? Is it possible its something else? Etc, etc... Any help is appreciated!

Unassigned Devices keeps dropping my drives.
So I did switch to a usb-c to usb cable so I can connect to the front and that seems to, atleast for the time being, fixed my issues. Not sure of where I am speed wise, but I don't imagine its a big cut.

Unassigned Devices keeps dropping my drives.
For what its worth.... I replaced my usb-c to usb-c, that connected in the front, with a usb-c to usb that connectes in the back directly to the board. Not sure if that could effect anything but its worth a try. If you see anything in my logs feel free to shout! Thanks

Unassigned Devices keeps dropping my drives.
I am running a N100 mini pc with 2 internal ssd's. Connected to it I have a TERRAMASTER D4-300 USB 3.1(Gen1) Type-C Storage External Hard Drive Enclosure Hot Swappable with 4 16 terra drives. My problem is that I keep coming back to find my drives unmounted, with a little circle and line through it. I am currently trying to migrate from my old windows formatted drives, but can't even transfer the files onto a correctly formatted drive if it keeps crashing. I may be regretting the migration as a whole considering all the problems I am having. Any thoughts would be great!!!

Cloning windows formatted hard drive for unraid
Lol No, that's what I meant to post. I didn't want to post a screenie listing everything I'm copying into various folders. It was more just to say the terminal in a browser window.

Cloning windows formatted hard drive for unraid
Ok, so I have to wait till current session is done before I can close this:? Cause keeping this open all the time seems counter productive. Installing tmux and I can close it.? Can I kick it to the background and then close it now? Its been a while since my old unix class.

Cloning windows formatted hard drive for unraid
Random question... Rsync continues to run in the background even if I close the browser window I assume?

Cloning windows formatted hard drive for unraid
Ok, so I set up Duplicity since that seems to be what people are suggesting... Its going at a speed of 8.73 mbs and is going to take 15 days.... And that doesn't feel right. I can transfer from my pc to the disc on the network at 100 over ethernet, and these to drives are in a nas bay. I did set it up to use -threads 1, but from what I read that should not make a difference. Is that wrong?

Cloning windows formatted hard drive for unraid
Yeah, thats kind of what I am expecting.... Are there better ways than others to do that in unRaid with an drive I'll be reformatting and a drive mounted via unassigned disks?

Cloning windows formatted hard drive for unraid
What ever gets the, to xfs with the data the fastest... Like I said. I'd love if one of those disk cloners that do like 30 gigs a min could just transfer the data with out reformatting the drive, but I believe they need to be the same format and destination needs to be bigger. And just copying them is going to take forever. Just curious if anyone has any suggestions.

Cloning windows formatted hard drive for unraid
Don't get me wrong... I appreciate the thought on trying. To work out the Unassigned Disks issue, but long term just converting the disc may be a better use of the effort.

Cloning windows formatted hard drive for unraid
I have three 16 TB drive all formatted for Windows. I do also have cold storage backups for them, so this may not be as painful as it need to be. They are all formatted for Windows... And unassigned devices keeps, I don't know crashing or something. The drives just drop. I want to format them as xfs, or whatever is native to unraid. Does anyone have thoughts about the quickest way to do this, preferably without taking my server down. I know formatting one of the drives and then copying all the data would work, and I did that when I moved everything into cold storage, but God it's slow and tedious and arguably I would probably switch my cold storage too xfs format as well. I was debating buying a cloner, but it looks like for any of those the target drive needs to be bigger than the source drive and they are not. In fact they're the exact sam e size.
