  1. This a much better solution, I was initially thinking I should just get a new switch haha
  2. I feel a bit silly... I sorta just assumed that if a NIC was 10gb it would support 2.5gb as well. Thats a bit lame. Not too sure how I'll work around this now.
  3. Hey guys, I'm running into a bit of a weird issue. I've had my unraid server for a few months now, but I'm just now noticing that my server has been only running a gbe speeds, I have two 10 gb NICs on my server and a 2.5gb unifi switch. However, whenever I look on my switch it is getting automatically negotiated to 1gb instead of 2.5gb. I've tried swapping out the cables, changing ports, ect. but nothing seems to do it. Whenever I manually go in and swap the port on my switch from 1gb to 2.5gb I just lose connection to my server. I tried to look to see if there was a way to manually set the speed in unraid, but I can't seem to find anything definitive. Here is a little bit of info I was able to pull off my unraid server: 67:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection X722 for 10GBASE-T (rev 09) DeviceName: Intel LAN X722 #1 Subsystem: Super Micro Computer Inc Ethernet Connection X722 for 10GBASE-T Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 47, NUMA node 0, IOMMU group 3 Memory at 388000000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) Memory at 388002800000 (64-bit, prefetchable) Expansion ROM at e0d00000 [disabled] Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 3 -- 67:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection X722 for 10GBASE-T (rev 09) DeviceName: Intel LAN X722 #2 Subsystem: Super Micro Computer Inc Ethernet Connection X722 for 10GBASE-T Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 47, NUMA node 0, IOMMU group 4 Memory at 388001000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) Memory at 388002808000 (64-bit, prefetchable) Expansion ROM at e0d80000 [disabled] Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 3 Here you can see the driver that is being loaded: [ 23.878407] i40e: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection XL710 Network Driver [ 34.585199] i40e: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection XL710 Network Driver And here you can see what the server is doing to the NICs as they load: [ 34.292135] i40e 0000:67:00.0: i40e_ptp_stop: removed PHC on eth0 [ 72.942350] eth0: renamed from vethd72209f [ 73.347126] eth0: renamed from vethd492230 [ 73.739363] eth0: renamed from veth51bc1d4 [ 74.019265] i40e 0000:67:00.0 eth0: NIC Link is Up, 1000 Mbps Full Duplex, Flow Control: None [ 74.132235] eth0: renamed from vethebbe59c Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can figure this out? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
  4. Hey guys, I've been trying to get EVE-NG working for some time now, it just seems the install gets hung up and loads indefinitely. I've tried following the write ups here: Reading some other stuff online, but I haven't gotten the working combo. That last post is the only real resource I can find to mention steps for getting an EVE-NG up and running, but its over 6 years old now. I've seen tons of other posts of people mentioning that they have it working, but I wondering what I'm messing up. I've tried swapping the drives to be SATA for both the mounted disk drive and the virtual hard drive, I've tried both BIOS and UEFI, I've tried different chip firmware, I've dried raw and QCOW2. Is there something else I'm missing I need to set when creating the VM to get it working? Thanks so much for any help!
