I would also love this. Read cache would probably not make much sense when you use Unraid more for cold storage - write and rarely read. But when using Unraid for apps like Plex or Immich etc. it would definitely help to speed things up. I have helped things along with setting up cache only shares for temp and cache data for these apps, but it is rather complicated and requires deeper knowledge of the app inner workings and also Docker configuration. I could totally see that a slightly tweaked mover script could look at new files on disks and move them into cache.
There is "Cache Mover" beta app, that has popped up, and seems to somewhat do this, but I did not really like this personally and didn't test this thoroughly.
