@trurlJust as an update, parity is syncing nicely. I'm at 65% now. Thank you very much for walking me through this process.

Thank you. Starting array with Parity valid box unchecked.

OK. I clicked apply. It looks like all parity data is going to be erase. Is this correct?

OK. Dumb question. I assigned it here though in the previous step. Should I remove it then preserve current assignments - all/apply and then add the drive back to disk1? Sorry. I just want to make sure I get the exact steps right. Thanks.

I unassigned Disk1. I was able to mount the file system with the array stopped, probably doesn't matter, just providing details. Now what?

cancelled check file system status. It didn't look like anything was happening. Here is my current state with array started in normal mode. Remove Disk 1 from array and try to run check file system?

If data is still present will I loose it when I unassign? Check Filesystem still shows running with no change.

OK. I ran check filesystem in maintenance mode with -n. Test has been running for a while and still shows running. Here are the results so far. I'm not sure if the test is hung. My Parity 2 and Disk 1 drives were disabled. Drives show healthy on dashboard. I have stopped the array and rebooted. Restarted array and both Parity 2 and Disk 1 continue to be disabled. I ran a Smart short test on both drives and they come back no errors and healthy. Disk 1 says Unmountable: Unsupported or no file system. I'm extremely concerned and don't want to loose data. Just prior to these errors happening I was messing with VM setup and bailed out of the edit->update process. It was taking a long time.
