    hi, @grants169 this was the solution i searched for. this behavior started with 7.1.4 again. did a little tweaking and just increased the sleep timer in line 131 to 60 seconds, seemed more feasible and does not "destroy" the functionality. server before: 3 processes of lsof constantly respawning using 3 cpus completely. server after change and /etc/rc.d/rc.nginx reload: 1 process every 60 seconds, power usage down by 50 watts. many thanks. greetings, daniel
