  1. Thank you for the information. I will try a 6 TB as a new parity when I upgrade as suggested. Have a great day. Jim S.
  2. Hello all, I am currently using the following motherboard in my 3 year old unraid setup: SUPERMICRO MBD-X8SIL-F-O Xeon X3400 / L3400 / Core i3 series Dual LAN Micro ATX Server Board w/ Remote Management I am running unraid 5.0.5. I am interested in upgrading my drives to the new larger sized drives starting with my parity drive. I currently have 1 parity and 5 data drives. All drives are 2 TB in size. Does anyone know what size drives this motherboard will support. I have not updated the bios since board was purchased. Any information is greatly appreciated. Take care, Jim S.
  3. Hello, Sounds like a boot device selection in BIOS issue to me. You might want to verify that your USB stick is still selected as the boot device. Take care, Jim S.
  4. hi, You can use the included midnight commander. Do a search for more info. Hope this helps, Jim S.
  5. Hello, Saw 1461 current pending sectors. That is not a good sign. Might be time for a RMA. Have a good one, Jim S.
  6. Hello, Did you per clear the drive before adding to array? If not that would probably explain the long wait. Jim S.
  7. Hello, I believe the disk assignment letters can and do change on reboots. It depends on the order that the drives are detected during bootup. You will need to figure out the correct drive assignment to perform the smart check on the problem disk drive. Hope this helps. Jim S.
  8. Hello, Sorry for your trouble. Even though the smart was passed check out the reallocated sector counts. I think that drive is about done. Take care, Jim S.
  9. Hello, Have you checked the flash drive's integrity? Might have some corruption after the accidental power loss. Take care, Jim S.
  10. Hello, I did not see what network card you were using on your unRaid server. When I first built mine I had similar issues.. Swapped to an intel nic and those issues went away. That was almost a year ago. I also use a static ip address for my unRaid server and it's always where I expect it to be. I pretty much keep all my main computers at static addresses. Good luck, Jim S.
  11. Hello, Sorry to hear about your problems. I have manually modified the flash\config\network.cfg file before to fix an ip address issue. I just made sure to backup the file, shutdown unRaid server, and then put the flash drive in a windows pc and modify the config file. This has worked for me. It's also a good ideal to backup the entire flash drive contents once you get everything working. Take care, Jim S.
  12. Hello, Sorry to hear of your problems. Hope you get it sorted. I looked at the smart report you posted and even though it passed it did list 60 current pending sectors. I think that the drive is having some issues. Maybe do a search about sector reallocation on this board. Lots of great advice on here. Take care, Jim S.
  13. Sorry to hear your troubles, You should try using windows again to setup your unRaid flash drive. The procedure posted on the website works as written. If that does not work for you then I believe there is another issue. Setting up the flash per the procedure should take just a few minutes. I have setup up two using windows 7 and followed procedure step by step and both worked fine. Check that bios setup again just to make sure. Maybe post some screen shots of bios setup screens associated with boot device selection and boot priority. Good luck, Jim S.
  14. Kizer, I do the same with all my network gear. It's nice knowing the ip address is always the same. Have a good one, Jim S.
  15. Hello, I have done the same thing before. I have found that once you have your system working the way you want it's a good ideal to back up your unRaid flash to a safe place. This at least allows an easy way to get back to a working system if you make a config mistake. Take care, Jim S.
