  3. I ordered it on 2010-12-21 and took delivery on 2010-12-27, even though they told me it was delayed as it was not in stock and at the same time it was ordered over Christmas. I was very pleasantly surprised. I think I wrote to Inter-data as they are the danish distributor and they directed me to ShopITonline as this was for private use. Inter-data are still advertising this product: http://inter-data.dk/products/pci-e-85548183.aspx BR Søren

In english: I bought mine at the Danish shop www.shopitonline.dk. Br Søren

  7. Hi I have been using this thread to set up rsync on my unraid: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2165.0 But for some reason I can not get it to start automatically after reboot - or manually when running the script in a telnet session The script I'm haveing trouble with: S20-init.rsyncd if ! grep ^rsync /etc/inetd.conf > /dev/null ; then cat <<-EOF >> /etc/inetd.conf rsync stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/bin/rsync --daemon EOF read PID < /var/run/inetd.pid kill -1 ${PID} fi cp /boot/custom/etc/rsyncd.conf /etc/rsyncd.conf I get the error ./S20-init.rsyncd: line 9: syntax error: unexpected end of file BUT if I copy/paste the content of the script directly to the telnet session rsync starts fine. Hope someone are able to spot my error. Thanks Søren
  8. Hi Joe, In the 'Mail ID' field I have to type my complete address ie. [email protected]. If I don't I get this error when, testing by manual running the smtp script: root@NAS_Serup:/etc/cron.hourly# smtp_status.sh root@NAS_Serup:/etc/cron.hourly# send-mail: Authorization failed (500 failed authentication) Your other two suggestions did sadly not make any difference. I think this may just be an unfortunate error on my side, with the specific smtp/mail provider I'm using. Somehow my provider do not like, the contend/form of how the automatic status mail are composed. But thanks for your help. Edited: Just found this: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-gate.nsf/docid/2009052115233954 - explains why my problem. I know my provider uses Symantec Scan Engine with there mails solution (Imail). BR Søren
  9. Hi First, thank you very much for this great add-on menu to unraid. I have installed the mail/ssmtp + hourly status mail. But for some reason the smtp provider I'm using is saying the mail contains a virus and there for are striped down to: A message for this address contained a virus and was not delivered. Virus detected - Malformed container violation The message was from <root@NAS_Serup> Subject: unRaid Status OK I'm not able to use a different smtp provider. I have attached my config. Perhaps someone have a suggestion for a solution. I have tested with the "echo... this is a a test" that was mentioned in this thread. I have no trouble receiving that mail. Thanks. BR Søren Ps. In the picture attached I have erased part of the text in the input fields.
  10. Og én til dansker her When I copy files within unraid I use "Midnight Commander". From the telnet prompt type mc. With this utility I have no trouble copying danish characters. I'm using Putty for the telnet session, don't know if that can make a difference. BR Søren
  11. Thanks for the info. Let me know what X-case reply next... BR Søren
  12. Yes, it has been sold out for at while. I've been very temped to buy the one from X-Case (been looking at it since last summer), but when I read the comments I decided to wait and see what the new revision of the case will bring, mainly because of the heat issues. According to X-Case themself, there case is not the same case as the Norco one, but it sure does look A LOT like the Norco. I'm in the same situation as you. I'm in Denmark. The Norco will be too expensive with vat and taxes (from US)... And a normal tower case with 3 or 4 "5 in 3 backplanes" bought in Denmark is way more expensive then the Norco/Case case. So as I see it my best option is to wait and see what the new X-Case will be like. BR Søren
  13. Hi, Just FYI: http://www.xcase.co.uk/p/445733/x-case-rm-420---20-drive-sata-ii-hotswap---inc-rails-optional-psusuks-lowest-priced-multidisk-4u-.html If this is the same retailer you've found in the UK, then ignore this msg. BR Søren
  14. Hey Lazy me, just saw this post now. I'll give it a try. Thanks Have a nice weekend. BR Søren
  15. One thing I noticed. When the plug-in is enabled in Firefox and I'm browsing a site, clicking on a picture, that pop-up in a new windows, it takes a few seconds before the new window pop-up. When I disable your plug-in, the window pop-up instantly. BR Søren
  16. Hi Bubba, Thanks for your nice little utility Is it correct it does not show drive temp of the cache-drive? BR, Søren
  17. Hi all, Just wondering. Normally when I plug in a new drive in my unRAID, I just plug it in and hope it won't fail. I know this have been discussed before, that it would be wise to do a burn in test of the new hard drive before installing it in the unRAID server. So, do you do burn-in test when buying new hard drives? And if so, how do you do it? From a Windows (or other) machine with some kind of burn-in software or from unRAID directly? For how long do you test etc.? Cheers, Søren

  20. Joe, what should your suggestion do? I just got an anwser back from Abit:
  21. No, I have not come to that yet. The Samsung drive is farily new in my system.
  22. Hi, I have one Samsung HD753LJ, as parity drive, and mine do not spin down unless I press the spin down button on the management web page. Device Model: SAMSUNG HD753LJ Firmware Version: 1AA01110 Cheers, Søren
  23. Just a little update on this one. After wirting back and forth with Abit tech.support they asked me to test my PCI bus with another PCI card then my old PCI grahpics card. Abits HQ had been testing bios 22 with a PCI grahpics card and they didn't have any problems with this combination. This weekend I tested with another PCI card. This is what i worte back to Abit support: To everyone that has this m/b: What mode are you running your JMB363 SATA Controller in? IDE og AHCI? And what are the difference? My unRAID works either way. Cheers, Søren
  24. Hi, My reason for posting this, is as follows http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2331.0 I have the Abit AB9 Pro m/b in my unRAID-server. I have recently upgraded the bios to 22 (from bios 16). I read on this forum, that bios 22 should contain some fixes concerning using IDE hard drives with unRAID. So I thought why not try my old 30 GB IBM Deskstar hard drive as cache drive. It was only to see how this cache-drive thing works, as don't need the extra write speed. I'm only connected to my unRAID server via 54 mbit/s wireless. I have used this old drive for my first unRAID-server (with user-shares enabled) for evaluation - before I went out and bought new hardware/drives/unRAID license - and hence there was data on the drive. I deleted the data in the folder ‘\cache\*.*’ - but there was also a folder called ‘\user0\’ - I started to delete data in 'user0' also, which I should never have done - I cancelled the delete after about 10 sec. as I thought something look wrong. After a look on the web management page, one drive (disk1) had about 10 GB more free space on it then before I started to delete :'( I don’t know what data I have lost, as it seems the delete has been randomly on ‘disk1’. Any comments are welcome. Kind regards, Søren
