I do have an onboard video card that I use for unriad
-
Thanks for the quick reply, I have removed all of the other card except my nvidia card and I get this error now. "Error: Hook script execution failed: internal error: Child process (LC_ALL=C PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin HOME=/ /etc/libvirt/hooks/qemu HTPC start begin -) unexpected exit status 1: Failed to bind device 02:00.0 to vfio-pci driver"

I saw that you added an extra VM so I removed it. I installed a standard hard drive in place of the SSD and reinstalled windows 8. It now works fine through VNC. Now to my original problem, when I try and pass through my Nvidia GeForce 8400 I receive this error "Error: internal error: early end of file from monitor: possible problem: 2015-06-03T21:46:30.907179Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=02:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: vfio: error, group 1 is not viable, please ensure all devices within the iommu_group are bound to their vfio bus driver. 2015-06-03T21:46:30.907195Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=02:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: vfio: failed to get group 1 2015-06-03T21:46:30.907202Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=02:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: Device initialization failed 2015-06-03T21:46:30.907209Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=02:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: Device 'vfio-pci' could not be initialized" here is the log file 2015-06-03 21:46:30.432+0000: starting up libvirt version: 1.2.15, qemu version: 2.3.0 Domain id=4 is tainted: high-privileges Domain id=4 is tainted: custom-argv Domain id=4 is tainted: host-cpu char device redirected to /dev/pts/0 (label charserial0) 2015-06-03T21:46:30.907179Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=02:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: vfio: error, group 1 is not viable, please ensure all devices within the iommu_group are bound to their vfio bus driver. 2015-06-03T21:46:30.907195Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=02:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: vfio: failed to get group 1 2015-06-03T21:46:30.907202Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=02:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: Device initialization failed 2015-06-03T21:46:30.907209Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=02:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: Device 'vfio-pci' could not be initialized 2015-06-03 21:46:30.954+0000: shutting down I have a Asrock z97 extreme6 motherboard with a Intel® Core™ i5-4590S CPU @ 3.00GHz processor. No plug-ins just a fresh install of r3. I do have a 180gig ssd as my cache drive would that matter? also the command you sent did not fix anything

I have having problems creating a windows 8 virtual machine. I installed windows and as soon as it got to the point where it was installing the Apps it froze shutdown and now when I try and turn it back on I get this error "Error: internal error: process exited while connecting to monitor: 2015-06-03T20:00:58.271644Z qemu-system-x86_64: -drive file=/mnt/cache/VM/HTPC/vdisk1.img,if=none,id=drive-virtio-disk2,format=raw,cache=none,aio=native: Could not open '/mnt/cache/VM/HTPC/vdisk1.img': Permission denied" I have not passed through the video card as I was getting another error doing that, so I figured I would try to install it with out the pass through and then add it later. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks

I'm having the same problem I used the create VM and filled out all the info. Nothing happened. I have tried every way possible. The .cfg file only has autostart="no" no matter how I set autostart. I did get this error on the unraid page Warning: libvirt_domain_create_xml(): XML error: unable to parse mac address 'Warning: libvirt_connect_get_information(): this function is not supported by the OpenVPN Server & Client for unRAID 6.2+ (6.1 are still supported)
kunkler99 replied to peter_sm's topic in Plugin Support
I have a quick question, is there any way to verify that all of my unraid traffic is going through the VPN both docker and Xen vm's? If I google "where am i" in my windows 8.1 vm it finds my exact location. -
ZeroK, Did you manage to get the usb to pass through? That is the problem with installing this on hyper-v is windows does not pass through usb drives, so the current way of determining if you have a pro version based on the serial of the usb will not work. I have read online that some people have found ways to pass through a usb flash drive but no one has ever listed a model of usb flash drive that works.

I want to first say thank you for all the help and information you have provided us all. Secondly I have a question about my eth0 connection. It seems that I can not get it to connect at 1000 at all on any of my machines. I have two, one connects at 100 and the other at 10. I have tried to run ethtool -s can it does not return anything at all. I have a feeling this is a driver issue. Is there a xen driver like the one needed for windows (gplpv )? If so how can i install the correct drivers. Thanks! Scott

My New Build using Supermicro Server from TAMs
kunkler99 replied to vl1969's topic in Unraid Compulsive Design
I am currently running the free hyper-v core version of sever 2012 which does not have the storage space option, at least not that I know of. I do have a Windows standard 2012 license I got through school but its only good for a year and I want this to be a set it up and forget it setup, not something I will have to revisit a year from now. How is the 4.2 Xen coming along?
