  1. Here are a couple examples from MC. It seems when copying from user share its always about 1mb/sec or less but when copying from the disk mnt point it is either 3 mb/sec or other times its at 100 mb/sec

There dont seem to be any errors showing for the drives

  2. Hi

I have had unraid running for several years flawlessly. I have just migrated my drives to a new system that has a lot more power for running VM's. Since moving I am getting some really up and down read speeds. I am talking 1 - 3 mb/sec slow when copying files between drives in Midnight Commander. It really frustrating as a file goes slow then later it copies across at 100 mb/sec.

The main file system changes are I changed the parity from a 2T to a 4T and added a SSD cache. Physical system wise its all new hardware.

I have run diskspeed.sh and get between 76 mb/sec and 131 mb/sec for my main drives (500mb/sec for cache) so I dont think the drives are the issue.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

  3. Hi

I currently have a 4x4 HDbaseT Matrix. The build isnt finished till Feb so nothing is installed yet. I am thinking based on the inputs I am planning will need possibly an 8x8. I am also plannig to have everything including the audio amps in the basement and speaker wires to ceiling speakers. Therefore I need to find a matrix with hdmi output as well as HDBaseT which work in parallel so the audio goes from the matrix via hdmi to the amp and the video goes via HDBaseT to the tvs

I am drawing up a schematic and will post once done.

I am getting an itchy finger wanting to place the parts order but I am not going to until I know 100% that the GPU passthrough is going to work as that is the whole point of the upgrade as I already have all the storage and computing I need just nothing does the passthrough currently.

  4. Hi

I have started a thread here (http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=54031.0) but I have a major question about GPU passthrough in VMs so thought it would be relevant here.

Basically I am ready to buy an upgrade as per the above post but my core requirement is GPU passthrough so I want to know 100% before I shell out lots of money that the hardware will work. From my readings in the form it should but also I have heard of people with systems that should work just dont. Does anyone have any experience with the hardware suggested or an alternative that is similar and would work.

    Thanks

  5. Hi

I am planning a major upgrade in line with a new house. My core aim is to run 3 x LibreELEC VMs in 3 rooms with GPU passthrough and then a couple other VM's for mucking around plus the usual dockers, couch potato, sickrage etc. I figured I might as well make it a good upgrade with room for expansion. Besides the obvious hard drives etc can anyone see any issues with the below. I am leaning towards the X10DAL-i due to the 3 slots with the extra pins.

Im only going for one CPU at this point but may get a second in the future based on the utilisation.

    Thanks

  6. Hi

I have searched and scoured the forum but it looks like some motherboards just dont accept passthrough nicely and I think I am in that camp. I thought I would give it a go in case anyone knows what else to try.

I plan on making an old server HP ML350G6 into a Virtual Machine specifically for Kodi plus others. I have unraid running and made a Librelec VM run using VNC. I have installed a GeForce GT 710B but keep getting the dreaded "vfio: failed to set iommu for container: Operation not permitted" when starting the VM. I have tried the following in varying combinations

1, toggled the PCIe ACS Override

    2, added the line vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unsafe_interrupts=1 to syslinux.cfg

3, Moved the card to each of the 6 PCIe slots

  7. Hi

When booting the VM I get the below error while creating the bridge. Does anyone have any ideas?

  8. Hi

Has anyone had an error with a Hauppauge 340, WINTV-HVR-2200. It works fine for about 3 days then my syslog fills up as below. I have tried several versions of the media kernel with the same results.
