  1. Djoss - Firstly, thank you for this docker! I use it several times a week and it saves me a lot of time being able to download directly to my Unraid server.

Unfortunately, after the recent update, I've been experiencing problems.   In essence, after it starts the download process, the docker just stops.  Checking the log, I continue to get the following error: invalid source position for vertical gradient.

Edit: I did a bit of testing after uninstalling the docker and reinstalling.  It only seems to hangup when I'm processing multiple files for download.  If it's only a single file, then it does it just fine - which seems odd to me.

Happy to send the log in it's entirety to you, but was just wondering if you had any thoughts on what might be causing the problem?

USB ports disconnecting are a common cause of problems with the flash drive, so likely it could be a problem here also. USB2 is preferred.

OK.  I can certainly try USB2.

Still looking for clarification on if the "device" field needs to be completed.  And if so, how I identify/map what that designation might be...

    Thanks!

Those are not really choices. Perhaps you meant:

UPS Cable: Smart and UPS Type: APCSmart

Have you tried turning on Help?

Have you tried a different USB port?

Sorry.  You are correct.  I selected Smart and APCSmart for cable and type.

I have not tried swapping out the USB port.  Only because when I run "lsusb" it identifies the UPS.

Does the 'Device' field need to have a value?

  4. Trying to setup the APCUPSD.  I have an APC UPS connected to my Unraid server with a smart usb to RJ cable.

It recognizes the UPS in the UPS details bottom section, however, continually gives me a "lost communication" error.  I have set it as USB: Smart and Cable: APCSmart.  I am a bit of a linux novice, so did not set the device field up (left it as default).  Predominately because I do not know how to map the connection to the appropriate TTY (if that is correct).

I travel extensively for work, so would sleep better at night knowing that if I do have a power outage that my server will gracefully shutdown.

What command do you run on your local box with rclone to authorize Dropbox?

    Rclone authorize “dropbox”

Edit: I've tried both connecting via the 127.x.x.x:53682/auth as well as pluging in my Unraid server's address with same port.

  6. Forgive the newbie question:

Having a bit of trouble rclone setup and specifically authorizing dropbox.  I am working on a remote machine, select the option during the setup, login to the terminal on my remote machine but can not authorize dropbox. It does not direct my browser and the http://127.0.0.1 address just times out.

I'm sure this is simple, but would appreciate some assistance.

    Thanks.

Create a folder in the root of the flash drive called openvpn

Toss the .ovpn file into it.

Then on Settings you can select the file via the dropdown

From the OP of the support thread:

Thank you for the prompt response!  Creating the "openvpn" folder in /root did not work, however, putting it in /boot/openvpn did.  Thanks!

I tried the OpenVPN client app  but it says choose file  but its not clickable  so cant even import the OpenVPN config file

Same deal; it will not let me choose a file.  Seems very straightforward other than that.  Can someone advise?

  9. this might be a stupid question, but I couldn't find it in my search so I just wanted to confirm: can you only have one cache disk at a time?

when I initially setup my unraid box, I had a spare 150gb (SSD), so I used it for my cache disk.  Now I find myself occasionally running out of space on it (and then I have to manually execute the mover) and would like to upgrade.  I have a 1TB drive that I could replace it with, but I'm concerned about mucking up my Plex package (I have all of my metadata stored on the cache disk).

If I can't add two cache disks, is it as simple as just MCing the data from the old cache disk to the new disk, stopping the array, and adding the new disk as a cache disk?

    Thanks for the assistance!

  10. First off, apologies, but I'm new to Unraid so this might be somewhat of a basic question.

I recently added a new hard drive to my array (using the latest 5.x build).  I have added the drive letter (sdf) to each of my shares, but it does not seem to be using the new drive.

I currently have the shares setup for the following: "most free", split level 2.  I tried switching to high-water, but it didn't help.  The mover continues to move files from my cache drive to the original two drives.

It's not an emergency at this point, but I do want to ensure that when the original drives become full that it starts filling up the new drive.

    Thank you for the assistance.

  11. Appreciate the support and links!  They are all running Frodo 12.2.

And memory isn't an issue. I'm running Unraid on an old workstation that has 12GB of memory.

I will check out Plex, but frankly, just want to get what I have fully working.

The platform you run XBMC on makes no difference when sharing a library, however they must all be on the same version number of XBMC, i.e. all machines on eden 11.x or frodo 12.x

In XBMC system settings , go to video , export library and select separate files, export thumbnails, (optional on whether you want to export actor thumbs) , overwrite

Mysql on your unraid server is feasible but resource hungry (particularly memory).

You don't need to install a head xbmc on your unraid, you need to edit your advanced settings file to point to your mysql database on the unraid server.

Use the mysql plugin that is in the plugins page

    http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=UnRAID_Plugins&oldid=7789

    then follow instructions here

    http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW-TO:Sync_multiple_libraries/Setting_up_MySQL

PRO TIP, if you share a common sources file between your machines it makes it easier to use them all to update your media.

  12. I’m looking for some advice.  I have three media streamers (Pivos & AppleTV) and I’m tired of each streamer maintaining it’s on XBMC database.    My goal is to keep a centralized MySQL database on my Unraid server.

Although there some great guides out there, they haven’t answered all of my questions (particularly with Unraid).  Or for that matter, told me how to do the things I want to do.  So, hopefully, some of you experts can help me answer my newbie questions:

    (1) Is the MySql package in Unraid all I need to install?  In other words, do I need to be running another instance of XBMC as a head?  This would be problematic since I don’t have a system up all of the time and just want to leverage my Unraid server.

    (2) How do I import my existing library into MySQL (every guide I've read has the creation of a new database)?  I have over 1000 movies and countless television shows.  And if I can export my existing library, does someone have a guide or something I can follow?

    (3) If I can simply use MySql on my Unraid server, how do I update the library on a regular basis?

    (4) Is any data stored locally on the streamer when I leverage MySQL?  My AppleTV2 is almost at max storage capacity with metadata and I anticipate it causing problems as my library continues to grow.  Another reason why I need to consolidate!

    (5) I understand that I have to edit and copy the advancedsettings.html for each streamer within XBMC.  However, is it compatible with different XBMC instances? For example, I’m running two linux versions on my PIVOS boxes and IOS on my AppleTV.

    (6) Are there any best practices that I need to be aware of? For example, do I put the MySQL database on my main array or a cache drive?

    (7) Are there any potential “gotchas” that I need to be aware of while I’m installing?

    Thank you for the help!

  13. I'm somewhat of a newbie, so please bare with me...

I installed a number of new packages (power down, ups) and shutdown my unraid server (everything was working perfectly).

I then moved my computer and now it won't boot from the USB key!  It recognizes it in BIOS and I have verified that the key does work within windows.

Can I just backup the usb key, reformat it, and copy the files back?  Or are there other options I can try to recover?

    Please advise.

    thanks!
