  1. I have two 2 TB disk dedicated to movies only. Some are single file .mkv BD rips, some are multiple .VOB file DVD rips. I wanted to insure that all files within a movie title remain on the same disk so in this case the spit level is 2 in this following example with the level numbers listed on the left: 0 disk1 1 |--Movies (share) 2 |--Movie Title 1 |--.VOB1 |--.VOB2 |--Movie Title 2 |--.MKV 0 disk1 1 |--Movies (share) 2 |--Movie Title 1 |--.VOB1 |--.VOB2 |--Movie Title 2 |--.MKV I changed this slightly from my original scheme found in this post http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=1928.0
  2. Very cool. Used the 'Check for unMenu update' Script and everything worked perfectly. The old myMain was good, but this is GREAT. High tweakability factor. Thanks to Brian and Joe!
  3. I had the netgear gs105 and my only complaint was that it ran HOT. I upgraded to a d-link green 8 port switch. It has the ports in the back, lights in the front, and runs much cooler. There is also a 5 port variant: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127083
  4. An expert might confirm this, but when building a server type rig it might be better to stick with 'standard' spec RAM sticks. The OCZ platinum modules list 4-4-4-15 timings with 1.9-2.1V. Usually, variable voltages and faster timings are for users who do a lot of gaming or overclocking. The OCZ gold modules (currently on sale) list more standard 5-5-5-15 timings with 1.8V. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227124 I've had good luck in the past with A-DATA and Kingston ValueRAM. Then again, it might not make any difference at all.
  5. Could you post a snapshot?
  6. Those were all Linux distros.
  7. My Seagate Barracuda's report at 976,762,552.
  8. I think you will have better luck choosing a micro-ATX size MB instead of mini-ITX. There is a much greater selection available.
  9. This. Set up another (temporary) flash drive with unRaid basic on it. Do not assign parity. Assign only 1 data drive. Examine the contents to try to find your original flash backup files. Repeat until you find the backup. Then you can copy it to the newly Pro-keyed flash and recreate your array.
  10. For mini-ITX boards, these are the best: http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/ATOM/

  12. I had the same problem with hdparm. I removed HPA from my drives by downloading/creating/using the Ultimate Boot CD http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ First, I had to remove the drive from the unRaid server and install it into a Windows machine. Then, boot the Win machine from UBCD. Use the utility called HDAT2. Select the option to SET_MAX_ADDRESS. This will remove the HPA and restore the full capacity to the drive. Shutdown Win machine and re-install drive into unRaid. It should now show corrected full capacity. A real PITA, but it worked.
  13. As soon as you 'apply' the new settings, your web GUI would be expected to lock up because you have set new IP#. It probably wasn't necessary to reboot. Be sure to set all the other parameters (most likely these values): Netmask:255.255.255.0 Gateway:(your router's gateway IP) DNS Server :(typically same router's gateway)
  14. Be very aware of Gigabyte motherboard HPA issues. Search the forums here for 'HPA' and check the wiki: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=UnRAID_Topical_Index#HPA
  15. As a side note... The fan itself is not mounted with standard threaded screws, but instead use a kind of plastic rivet.
  16. You may need to set your USB flash drive as the boot device (if it doesn't do it automatically). Other than that, pretty standard BIOS options.
  17. Added more pictures and information to original post.
  18. SOLD I also have four (4) Seagate hard drives I need to sell. Barracuda 7200.11 7200 rpm 1 TB capacity bare drive model ST31000340AS Firmware flashed to rev. SD1A http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=0732f141e7f43110VgnVCM100000f5ee0a0aRCRD These were used in my previous unRaid server for approximately two years. They had HPA partitions on them, but full capacity has been restored using HDAT2 utility. I ran Joe L.'s preclear_disk script on them, so they are fully cleared and ready for unRaid. I can provide full S.M.A.R.T. reports for interested buyers. Asking $65 shipped/each or possible special deal if purchasing all 4 at once.
