    It's funny, I saw something about IRQ come up but didn't think much of it as they would go away after a few minutes. I have also recently changed monitors to a HDMI TV instead of a dedicated monitor. I will have a look at the syslog and report back. I will also change the SATA cable, hopefully something works.

    I have replaced the disk with a new WD Red 3tb disk. Still the same issue. 30 hours into a pre-clear and only on stage 2. Any ideas? Thanks

    I still have some kind of problem. Began the preclear again and on disk pre-read stage, it was reading the disk around the 120MB/s. At 70% stage, it began to read at 2.3MB/s and has been at the speed since. Should I try to connect the disk to motherboard port or is the disk in need of replacing? Thanks

    oh okay, brilliant. So to fix my issues, I will disconnect the new HDD that I was pre-clearing. I will make sure all cables are connected good. Then I will try again with the new HDD. hopefully it should pre-clear in the normal 24ish hours it takes. If it's still slow, then I shall report back. Thanks

    Single Rail? I don't know if it's a single rail or not as I don't know what you mean. My power supply is a Corsair AX760.

    It's a 750W power supply. I'll take it out and check the cable and re-do the pre-clear.

    OKay, aborted the pre-clear with controlC. Obtained smart report. I have attached it, is this HDD faulty? Thanks smart_report.txt

    I am currently using pre-clear tool on a new disk. It's on the final post read part but it's taking ages. Normally a 3TB disk is done in just over 24 hour mark, currently the post read is taking absolute ages. It's been post reading for the last 10 hours at 2.6Mb/s and has completed just 2%. Overall the pre-clear has taken 34 hours and counting. Could this be a faulty disk? Can I make this step quicker? By my calculations, at 2.6Mb/s will take months!

    I have finally got access to my server, but still a problem lingers on that when transferring data to the server transfer rate is 1mb/s instead of the normal 50mb/s. How do I go about assigning ip address on the router? Thanks

    I have tried to access it from 2 computers, two phones and an iPad, just never connects. For example, the Mac I am currently using has the ip address 192.168.1.101 Thanks

    Hi, I can't seem to access my server, I type the IP address as per normal but never seem to connect with my server. I have checked the IP address by hooking up a monitor to the server and the IP address I am typing is correct. Any ideas would be very welcome. Thanks

    HI, I have just completed a preclear on a new HDD. I have no idea what to look for in the report. Can some one please tell me if this HDD is good to use?     Hi, Thanks for your input. My problem is the following: I can access the server on the webGUI, however I cannot access it using my imac or my PC. If I click on Tower on my imac, it keeps coming up connection failed even though the server in online. I will run checkdisk now. I don't know how to use it but a quick Google and I will follow the instructions. Let's hope this fixes my issue. Report back as soon as I can.

    Honest reason is because I am lazy. I am due to buy a few HDDs, I will be adding a 4TB parity drive shortly. IN the mean time, how do I fix me current issue? Thanks

    Hi, I am having problems with my server! I can view it online and I can see Tower appear on my network but when I click on it, I cannot access it. It comes up with connection failed! I cannot access it on my windows based PC either. Screen shots & log included. Any help is very welcome please. Thanks log.txt

    I found by replacing the cables I have been getting transfer speeds of 36.5MB/s So far I have transferred just over 10GB at a transfer speed of 9MB/s, oh my will this be a good change!

    Everything is definitely gigabit. I will disconnect everything and just try a pc to gigabit router to tower. I use cat6 cables too! I will possibly buy new ones and then try. Gary, once again thank you sir.

    I have just pre-cleared another HDD. Is this HDD good to use? I have attached the reports. I have another question, my transfer speeds from my PC to the tower hits a maximum speed of 9MB/s. I have changed my equipment so that it is all gigabit. I am currently not using a parity drive either. I have read users hit speeds of 45MB/s. Am I doing something wrong?
