  1. Thanks for all the help. I love UnRaid for many reasons but the community is one of the best parts. I can confirm now that I can access the server from both locations. I can view GUI and brows shares. After fiddling with Plex quite a bit, it now is working in "local" mode from both networks.
  2. Just upgraded server to 6.2 and now have the extra GUI config options. I have my network set as 192.168.2.1 w/ 255.255.255.0 sub. The neighbors is 192.168.1.1 with same sub. Is same sub a problem?
  3. I have discovered that this did not work! Plex was connecting at the other network via internet. What is the correct protocol to keep anyone from erroneously following the previous posts? Should I edit the post with screenshot to delete it? I guess I am back to square one on the problem if anyone has anymore suggestions. Sorry and thanks.
  4. I dont think that any other resources are available to mine or the other network. I can not see anything cross network. I do plan to attempt to move files to the server share from that location though. DOES NOT WORK WITH PLEX! I was mistakenly accessing plex via web remote.
  5. Great News! Both networks can now access the Plex server on the uNraid box. I will stress test today and report any problems.
  6. Sorry it took so long to work out. It looks like I have it working now. I ended up with the bonded "broadcast" mode. I now have a very healty green and orange flash on both nics in the server. When I patched my tv network to the "neighbors" network, I can still see the plex server and play a movie. All looks good. I will venture next door tomorrow and complete the plex setup on their tv's and report back. Thanks for all the help. If anyone needs any screenshots or logs let me know.
  7. Cable is buried in conduit between houses. We used to share one internet connection and that made the server stuff really easy. Now we each have internet due to online streaming and the unraid is not so simple. I changed the IP of my network so they are now different but still no dice. It simply chooses one (seems to be 192.168.1.1) and only that network can see. Any more advice? Does unraid need to be told to operate with two NIC's (bonding)?
  8. Can someone point me in the right direction? I would like to be able to access server shares and Plex from home location or next door. I have a network cable pulled between. My unraid server has two NIC on board and I have another PCI gig NIC. Thanks
  9. Flash drive damaged when inserted into a windows machine. I would like to copy each drives data (300Gb total) before moving on to the new flash drive. I don't have the config file so I have no idea which drive was parity and which drives were data. Shouldn't I be able to sata cable the individual drives to my pc to back up? When I plug in to usb on pc, the driver installed but I do not see the drive.
  10. Thanks! That cleared up my confusion. All is well now. Thanks everyone for helping.
  11. Do you mean to make that change to my designated download folder in sab?
  12. I am struggling with probably the most basic issue. I installed Sabnzbd and it is setup and running fine, I just dont know where it is putting stuff. I see its folder location of "/usr/local/sabnzbd/config/Downloads/complete" but where is that?
  13. What about netbios over tcp/ip? It is disabled on the "bad" machine and enabled on the one that works.
  14. Thanks for that DNS info. The machine that is having problems has the same DNS as the machine that does not. Its 192.168.1.1 that is being handled by my DD-WRT router I guess.
  15. That was Yes to the IP question. I dont know how to verify the DNS question.
  16. No luck. I do have another interesting behavior that may help. When I try to access by just typing "tower/" in my address bar, I get the green ball in the web page tab but "//tower/ is not available". Also, in the middle of the page it says "ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED". Any more suggestions?
  17. I will try shutting everything else down and restarting the server. I have lots of stuff that can access it. Is there a limit? non-working pc = 192.168.1.148 Subnet 255.255.255.0 Working surface = 192.168.1.140 subnet 255.255.255.0 unraid = 192.168.1.103 subnet 255.255.255.0
  18. Setting the local master to yes didn't seem to help. My surface is connected via wifi and is in the workgroup working fine. The pc is wired and is in the workgroup too, but no joy.
  19. I have installed a new motherboard/CPU in my main pc's windows build. This machine had no problem connecting to the server before. Windows installed new drivers and had to be activated again due to the amount of hardware changes. After completion, I am not able to map drives or reach the server conventionally. The only connection I can establish is via ip address. I used to access the server with "tower/". Any clues unraid.txt

It was either the drive i was using or the sata cable. I put in a different IDE drive and now that drive is blue and upgrading. Thanks. I will post more if i have anymore hardware to test.

I will try a different drive. You are probably right.
